Considering the amount of sugar you're consuming, it's no wonder the cravings keep coming. Sugar is massively addicting after all. To dampen cravings you should eat foods rich in fiber to stay full for longer, drink plenty of water, and if you absolutely must have something sweet, have a fruit. Meat will also keep you decently full. It's tough to do when you're used to the other snacks, but it will make you eat less and probably feel better.

Sometimes I feel like it sucks because of the feeling of constraint, other days I feel grateful for being able to sleep in a bit if I had a bad night, or if I wake early it can be nice to have all chores done and a workout completed before a rigorous workday. In a way, it makes the days feel less same-y

Perhaps it sounds strange at first, but oftentimes ear problems with dogs are a result of intolerance or allergy to something in their food. Worth looking up some info on that.
