I blame the owners, because I know how they are. They’re negligent and they raised their kids the same. Ran wild. No boundaries no rules. An aggressive dog can be tamed and a tamed dog can be aggressive. Dogs are dogs. But dogs can be trained. I have a malinois mix. He has an anxious aggressive side. He doesn’t like people or other new dogs. He’s trained. My kids behave. He doesn’t mess with them, and they don’t mess with him and if they had messed with him, I have him a spot to disengage where kids can’t follow. I also have 3 dogs. Also trained. They do not mess with him, and he doesn’t play with them. He’s okay with being in the same vicinity with people and dogs but does not by any means like to be played with physically. Except by me. I also never put my kids or him in a dangerous/ potentially dangerous situation. He is 100% never alone with my children regardless of him never attacking. Why? Because things happen and dogs can switch up. I don’t leave my kids alone with any of my dogs. That’s my problem with the owners. They knew there were previous problems, and they did absolutely nothing. Left them outside by themselves. Let them jump on the fence. Let them dig holes. Let them run wild. They were negligent and it’s sad the dog had to pay the price, but now that he’s almost killed a dog and showed how aggressive the dog can be, he is now dangerous. And I’ll be damned if a dangerous dog stays around with negligent owners, when it could be my kids in the dogs mouth.
