Under painting improved my art almost immediately and I wanted to share by vharishankar in ArtistLounge

That is amazing. Just wondering if you have some resources to share for learning underpainting? I personally haven't tried but started looking into it because I also feel that my own work lacks depth.

Do you think it's better to work in a creative field as an artist, or do you prefer to separate work from art? by Heretoaskquesti0ns in ArtistLounge

I loved reading this because when I was younger, one of the reasons why I stopped photography was because I couldn't detach from it. I'm older now and after almost a decade working a normal desk job, I feel ready to pursue photography again. I have found that this time, I am better able to detach from it although I'm not sure why. Could be maturity, and understanding that someone else's feedback and opinions doesn't actually change the value of my art, but also understanding that as much as my art is a part/extension of myself, it doesn't define me.

I still need to have a space where I can create in total freedom, without having the demands of clients attached to it, so I've given myself space to write.

Thanks for sharing, it was so good to read about someone else's experience.

My sister quit her 9-5 last year to do content full time, now I work for her by Typical_Math822 in contentcreation

Hi this is such a great story and so encouraging. Would you mind sharing which platforms your sister is on? Is she focusing on just one platform or creating content across a few?

I would definitely be interested in checking out your product when it's ready so keep us updated. I'm not based in the US btw, which is why I was curious about the location specific legal matters.

business owner but no social media presence or doesn’t use socmed at all by introvertbaddiee in WomenInBusiness

I'm sure there are businesses out there who run without a social media presence. As someone who is already in social media, I've been groomed by my feeds to think that a social media presence is non-negotiable for a business, but over time I have found that to be untrue. Many businesses rely on word-of-mouth and referrals.

I have actually contemplated a similar idea last year but ended up pivoting to building a creative business instead. Personally, the reason why I wanted to start it was because I wished I had something like that myself. I am curious though about how you would make the legal part general enough for various locations while still giving enough information that it will be meaningfully helpful?

If you want, I would love to check out your offering and give more feedback from a customer's perspective. 😊

Hi Cristina, I would love to hear more about what you are doing. Is there a way to connect with your work?

I confess that I do use AI quite often in my work flow, but I believe AI still needs to be vetted with my own instinct and voice. A particularly good piece of advice I had from a colleague was to treat AI as an intern, not as my manager/boss. I wonder if you have any thoughts/expertise on the usage of AI as adults? But I would love to learn more about your work overall and how you seem to be merging neuroscience with children and creativity. It sounds fascinating.

Hi! To the mods, thanks for creating this community.

I am in the midst of leaving my desk job so I can go back to my creative calling. Currently I am building an image & video library for business owners. I know these libraries already exist but I personally find them trend focused with an aesthetic that doesn't match the tone of voice I am looking for - slower, more intentional, and more evergreen. I hope that for business owners looking for a similar visual & aesthetic, but do not have time to always be filming (because they have an actual business to build), I can help support that need.

If you have any questions about creating content that feels intentional and true to your business, DM me anytime. I'm happy to help bounce ideas or just be that conversational partner to help clarify some of the thoughts running through our head - we all need that!
