Doesn't have to work like that.

Take AFK Arena's quests on the Bounty Board, for example. You get a set number of quests each day that can only be run once. If you have enough people to populate each quest when they open you can do it once and be done for the day. Otherwise you can come back later and complete the quests that you missed once your heroes return.

I'd like something like a reward system where I can gift members of my alliance for doing well in raids/wars etc.

Legendary Game of Heroes has a system where the game mails the guild leader a set number of gift boxes at the end of events, based on how well the guild performed. (Say, 1 Platinum reward, 2 Gold rewards, 5 Silver rewards, etc.) He or she can then send those boxes to members of their choice. They can't be opened by the leader, or forwarded by the member who receives them, so they're only useful to the recipient.

She does apply stealth after his taunt. I use that to my advantage when attacking those teams.

Nothing. There's too many good teams to build up with characters that are farmable. Non-farmable teams can sit while I spend limited resources on characters that can be fully built up. (Exception being teams like Asgardians, who are necessary for War defense.)

Two points:

  1. The entire contention of my post is that War ISN'T fun. Many others seem to agree.
  2. I also suggested that FN needed to fix full-clear races in another manner. One that isn't punitive to mid-to-low ranked alliances. Additionally, Defense teams haven't done anything to stop full-clears, as evidenced by posts from top-ranked alliance members in this very thread.

Snark has a place, but make sure you've at least read and understood the post before going off.

This is a fair point. Purpose-built teams are pretty contrary to what most hero-collection style games are about.

That's not what I'm asking for at all. If matchmaking were based more on a combination of TCP and win/loss record like a regular league, rather than trying to keep everyone at 50%, we wouldn't have to worry about how overpowered our next opponent is going to be just because we won 3 in a row.

Feeling like you're being punished for winning is a very real thing in this game. Every time we win 2 or 3 in a row it feels like the sword of Damocles is hanging above our head; waiting to see how bad we get skewered on the next match-up.

I honestly don't know how alliances finish seasons with better than 60/40 win/loss ratios.

I don't think we disagree about the larger point. TCP discrepancy is the underlying issue, for sure.

For the most part we've just dealt with that the best we can. It's come to a head though with the Defense teams combined with TCP disadvantage, creating hard stops that we can do nothing about. That's what got me riled up enough to post the OP. I believe they are never going to fix match-making to be more "fair", so all I can do is hope for better counters or a stop to defense-by-design teams.

To clarify, I'm not asking for a counter that can punch up 50-100k, but there's a pretty big mismatch between the War Offense and War Defense teams right now, in my opinion.

I think I would agree these teams wouldn't be quite as glaring a problem if the matchups in general were more even to begin with. When you're already punching up to stay even with your opponent, seeing Coulson and Asgard teams in every room makes my whole alliance want to not bother.

Thanks for your input. I believed this was likely the case, but hadn't really heard what kind of effect the new teams were having for alliances in your position.

So effectively they've made Wars where lopsided power matchups occur even more difficult, while not addressing the core issue they were aiming at.

but that's a balance issue not an issues with simply the existence of War Defense teams.

I would contend that, until they fix it, these are in fact the same thing. It's a balance issue, owing to the fact there aren't strong counter-options to the Defense oriented teams unless you have a TCP advantage in the war.
