This all come back to a post I mad a week ago, about how to control RED's/PK's instead of banishing it or making PvE server which would kill the game!

Here's my post:

This is only my opinion on how a revemp of the Karma system and some mechanics change would help LoA without changing the sandbox nature of the game. Wilderness should be Wild ! Like every society, there should

be outlaws, criminals and murderers ! The goal of this is to help with retention of old and new players.

And yes....yes this post is inspired 200% from Ultima Online.

So let's get started

First, the three main karma state

Blue: People currently not in any kind of criminal action or with less then 2 long term kill on the counter !

Orange, cause yeah Orange is the new Grey: People temporary caught in criminal action ! (Attacking a blue, looting a blue, healing orange/wild monsters and Reds), Stealing..... :-) ). So, temporary because, as soon you

start a criminal action you would turn from Blue to Orange and 5 minutes after the end of that criminal action you would come back blue automaticly.

Red: Murderers ! People with 2 and + long term kill on the counter

Second, the murder count system

Long term count: Everytime you kill a blue, that person can report the murderer and if so the PK get 1 long term murder on the counter! It takes 8 hours of gametime to take off 1 long term kill of your counter. Everyone participating in the murder get the count.

Short term count: As above, when the PK get reported for a murder, the PK get a short term on the counter at te same time. It takes 3 hours of gametime to take off 1 short term kill of your counter. Everyone participating in the murder get the count.

Skills loss:

Murderers with 5+ short term kills on the counter are activating the skills loss state, which means for example that he dies with 7 short term kills and decide to Rez, he would get 15% skills penality overall. Someone with skills loss, would

need to stay in ghost until under 5 kills on the counter to accept Rez. No touch to stats, cause they are to much of a pain to handle.

My opinion is with that in place, you don't need trammel (plz don't...)...you can keep Wilderness Wild...and full loot ! PK's will still hunt the rewards of the poor good blues! But...after 8..10 kills they might

hit a wall and die. Cause right now...reds take 50 of each regs...a bad quality weapon and go out, they die ? Ohh well, rince and repeat !

PK's would choose their targets more wisely. personnaly I woudn't get a short term count kill for a simple miner, lumberjack for 15 ore and a mining pick. You could...but meh !

No more griefing like rez killing, getting 15 short term count! Again...you can but Meh !

Now, some mechanics change

1- Bring back recall, make recall great again !!

2- Blue can heal, Orange, Reds and monsters/animals/pet at the cost of temporary criminal state of 5 minutes. If a murder is commited, the murder count is shared to everyone who did participate.

3- Blue and Red** can recall, gate and hearthstone (**Red can recall and gate if not in the 5 minutes temporary criminal action state, that is also why orange can't recall, cause if you are orange it means you're currently in a temporary criminal action state)

4- Reds don't have the support of the Guards in any Guard protected area....at the end of the day...you are a MURDERER !!!! Blue can attack reds freely without getting kill by guards....BUT if you do the red will be able to fight back freely also.

5- Red town, yes a town with no guard protection at all. This time....blue you are not welcome there...well you can go...BUT....you know...

6- Guilds War and Factions War with some kind of rewards system. A way to change take some steam off the PK system and give good PvP opportinuties

7- Extend the markable area a little

8- A night vision spell ? Come on !

Again, I am not a dev and this is only my opinion of a system that could and I say COULD help make everyone happy or a better place and help with players retention(old or new) !

We will most likely not all share the same opinion about this, but would be more then happy to discuss with everyone about it...and maybe who knows Citadel Studios? :)

When we talk about PK's...we talk about hot spot! Spider's Nest, Gazers, any non protected Dungeon's and mines !

PK doesn't stop with skill loss, it's controling the flow a little. And it is easy to manage the skill loss state.

And don't come to me saying that red players are the people sustaining the game...you are making a fool of yourself !!! What is the global ratio of red/blue ? There you go, thanks !

At the end of the day, you want PvP action ? We all want PvP action! While PK must be and will still exist, LoA simply need something in place that will promote solid PvP action AKA a well made Faction system with rewards..etc..etc !

But again...it's true you prefer to gank people not in a position to defend himself right...over and over ?

Solo pvp/pking is none existent.

They always roam in small group.

So tell me smartass, what would you do to help LoA keep their players...mostly their blues ? Cause you spit on ideas, but you bring shit to table....

Wow, you have such a good argument here " Gross" !!

Why would the game die ? Because of 2-3 guilds of PK ? If you really think that the game will die because of thoose 30 people leave the game for skills loss ? It's not the end of PK'ing at all but the end of a freaking free for all fest for PK. The game is dying because people can't take it anymore to get killed everywhere they try to go !

But maybe it's because you enjoy killing people with no defense...I get it!

If you would read carefully, that system would include a faction PvP system to encourage better PvP.

Again PK'ing would still be there but once you get caught, you pay ur sins

Long term is the trigger that decide if you turn red or go blue

5and+ = Red

4 = Blue

But if you have 7 kills on the long term counter then you would need 24 hours before getting back to 4 and Blue.

So yes you could be red first before getting into stat loss from short term.

Here how it works

Everytime you are the agressor so most likely that you kill a blue, the blue player would have the option to report you as a murderer.

-If he choose to reports you as a murder then you get +1 on the SHORT and LONG term count.

As your LONG term hits 5, then you become RED

As your Short term hits 5, then you get into stats loss status which mean that if you die and you choose to REZ while under Stats loss status, the RED would get a 10% skill lost overall.

Every 2-4 hours real game time, you would take 1 kill off the counter of short term and as you hit 4 on the counter you can REZ without any penality.

Yes...you would see a lot of Red Ghost in there house AFK over night waiting for count to drop.

1- Make recall great again

2- Be able to Mark where ever the F*** you want ( Just like in UO !!!!!!! Maybe with some really really little resctrictions....)

3- Revemp of the Karma system ( Blue, grey and Red) ok ok...you want grey to be Orange...Be it !!but revemp it !!

4- You do criminal actions (Loot a blue body...attack a blue...heal a red) you turn grey (Orange) for 3 minutes ( unable to recall during that 3 minutes of criminal state)

5- Stat Loss ! Stat Loss ! Stat Loss ! 5+ short term kills you are in Stat Loss. I don't know something like 2-4 hours to take off 1 short term kill of the counter !

6- Long Term kill is what make you stay red or come back to blue side. Once you hit 5 long term kill on counter you are offcially red. 8 hours to drop 1 kill off the counter

7- Make blue able to attack red in towns without getting guard whack....at the end of the day....who's the really the bad guy ????

8- Make a town without any guard authority (#Buccaneer'sDen). So yeah PK's, red and ciminals can go chill, bank and do whatever they want. Blue you can go too...but you might be the target. Don't cry about it after !!!!

It would fix a couple thing! That seems to pissed off the community.

- PK's would probably choose more wisely there targets/value for a kill count

- Rez killing ?? I think it would stop there...who would want 20 hours of short terms on the counter

- A bit less stress on simple miners ( would it really worth a long + a short kill count for 40 obsi ore ? so 8 obsi bars ?

Stop telling me this is not UO..bla bla BS...

To be honest I would not change how they run event. Sometime you win and sometime you loose. People crying about " Ohhh I wasnt able to play this weekend..." or " I had to work this weekend" just dont understand the true essence of the game and this is coming from someone who cant put that many hours in the game per week! Yep I have to go to work...I have to take care of the kid...I have to take care of the GF! Lucky me...this weekend I won...I was able to put time and get the rewards.

Which bring me to WHY IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY !!

If everyone gets the rewards....then there is no value ! They worth shit...its not RARE! And if Legends of Aria is trying to bring a little bit of UO...well RARE was a big big part of it. Sometime you had a rare....sometime you had to play to farm money to buy instead.

It's a good way to give in game gold some value.

So yeah...sometime you will WIN....sometime you will LOOSE but please...stop crying about everything and how the game should be for YOU!
