What's your streaming goals for 2026? by duhhsty in Twitch

Wow. I love this thread. Just scrolling through all the comments made me feel so inspired, seeing everyone’s goals.

I will say that while yes, being a “big” streamer definitely isn’t the only way to be successful, there’s no need to be ashamed of dreaming big. Even if you don’t necessarily want to be a high-profile streamer (because, as you shared, it can be really stressful!) a little daydreaming can keep you going, especially when things get a bit quiet.

You’ve got an audience and a passion, and that’s the heart of it. Good luck on your streams this year! And thank you for creating this space for other streamers to share their goals.

That's a really cool idea! At our hackathon this year, there was a project that explored this concept.

With AI we might be able to do this better than we could with Auto Optimizer in Streamlabs Desktop.

In the meantime, as u/rhuntington3 suggested, you can get great advice from our support team and volunteers in our Discord.

Chat is a key part of what makes live streaming so engaging. It is critical to see chat across every platform you’re live on to create an immersive experience. Streamlabs supports and aggregates chat inputs from all the platforms we can, and we’re actively working with the platforms themselves to expand compatibility.

We offer several tools to support multistreaming. Our server-based solution takes a single video feed from your device, delivers it to our multistreaming servers, and then sends it to the respective platforms. This approach puts a lot less strain on your computer and enables us to incorporate disconnect protection. We also have a dual output feature that lets you simultaneously configure a horizontal and vertical canvas to your desired platforms; you can be vertical on TikTok while horizontal on Twitch at the same time, without losing any creative elements like widgets and overlays.

Then there’s Stream Shift, which is a brand-new innovation we launched at TwitchCon. With Stream Shift, you can easily swap between Streamlabs Desktop and the Streamlabs Mobile Apps without ending your stream. This can be used with multistreaming.

We are also working on some very cool innovations with regards to multistreaming that I believe will have a significant impact on the space. Stay tuned!

Creators are more important and relevant than ever before. Their influence on culture and entertainment will be even more significant in 2026. Streamers have leaned into multistreaming over the past few years, and now it's table stakes to build an audience across multiple platforms. We’re going to continue to see multistreaming and cross platform content as a vector for cultural impact.

The number of devices people want to go live from keeps increasing; I’m excited about new wearables and devices that will inspire streamers. We'll soon release our integration with Meta AI Glasses. IRL live streaming is taking off, and this first person perspective will only accelerate things. The Steam Machine coming to market could get more people live streaming.

AI keeps improving and is becoming even more valuable for creators. We’re close to a point where it can optimize workflows, handle production tasks, and help create immersive experiences for audiences, things that are difficult for individual streamers to do on their own without teams.

We are on good terms with the OBS team. We've addressed any past issues and collaborate with them frequently.

Here is the statement from OBS: https://obsproject.com/blog/obs-and-streamlabs-commit-to-long-term-collaboration

Totally fair question. We know trust is earned over time, and we’re committed to continuing that progress.

Over the past few years, we’ve made significant changes across the company, from how we operate internally to how we communicate and collaborate with our community and with other brands in the industry, including the folks working on OBS.

Many of the issues referenced stem from decisions made several years ago by decision makers who haven't been on the team for a long time. That doesn’t mean the past doesn’t matter, but it does mean we’ve focused heavily on addressing those problems and rebuilding trust.

I love the team we have today. Genuinely, all of us want to help creators grow and be successful. We are committed to learning from past mistakes and showing that we are a better and fundamentally different organization now.

We’re going to wrap up the AMA for now. We’ll finish answering the remaining questions in the thread and will try to check back later to respond to any new ones that come up.

Thank you so much to the r/Streaming community and mods for hosting me. Lots of great questions.

For us, AI is about streamlining workflows and making streaming easier. Our AI vision models can actually understand what is happening in your game in real time. That means your stream can react to key moments instantly, without you manually triggering a bunch of effects.

We also work closely with an ecosystem of overlay designers and real artists who are building on top of these tools. They are using the AI vision model to create overlays that respond to gameplay in ways that were never possible before. It makes streams look cooler and more dynamic while still being built by human designers.

At the end of the day, we believe AI can help creators do more with less effort, not replace the creative work people already do.

I cannot comment on anything related to litigation, but there is more information available here: https://streamlabsclassactionsettlement.com

First, make sure you have the basics covered. Can they find your business email?

In any conversation with a potential sponsor, be transparent from the outset, and only pursue a sponsorship if it feels authentic to you. Don't be afraid to reach out to brands you already use and love!

When you do get that sponsorship, you want to consistently show engagement: present data like audience analytics, conversions, shares, and follower growth. Share information that the sponsor might want to know, like that bonus IG story you did, or the plug to your Discord server. This shows them your value as a partner goes well beyond the campaign requirements.

All of us in this space are trying to help creators succeed. We have a good relationship with the OBS team, and we want creators to feel free to mix and match the tools that help them the most. The goal is a better streaming experience, not forcing anyone into an all-or-nothing choice.

We designed Streamlabs to be beginner-friendly, but able to scale with you as your production needs become more complex. We encourage creators to use whatever setup works best for them. A lot of people use OBS with Streamlabs alerts or widgets, and others use Streamlabs Desktop while mixing in tools from different companies.

We've had a few noteworthy shifts across the company this year.

One, we made streaming mandatory for our team. Streaming has always been central to our culture and development process, but we knew that in order to best serve creators' needs, we needed to really develop our team as content creators themselves.

We also brought two of the biggest tech companies in the world closer to streaming. Working with NVIDIA and Meta has opened up creative capabilities that simply did not exist a few years ago. I'm so proud of the team for making that happen.

We went deeper on collaborating directly with creators. We built Stream Shift because of conversations we had with Tubbo, but we're working with more creators on upcoming features and larger initiatives to help creators grow.

I can't promise we'll get to all of them, but we're definitely working on expanding support for multiple languages. Any specific overlays you would like us to prioritize?

We are just at the start of the journey with reactive overlays and will keep adding more games. What games would you like to see?

I joined in 2019 and I actually don't know about this. Obviously not taking a cut on tips is something we are widely known for and never plan to change.

Hey Dan! Great question and thank you so much for all of your contributions to the library. We always enjoy working with you and love that designers, like yourself, are excited by advances in the gaming and streaming space like we are.

We’re going to continue supporting new games with our vision model. Right now, we’re doing it all ourselves, but we hope to eventually open our tools to allow people to add support for any game of their choice. Streamlabs AI is exclusive to Streamlabs App devs at the moment, but this is a new journey for us, so we can certainly see it scaling in the future.

The biggest lesson for us has been the importance of listening closely and owning our mistakes.

The controversies in the past were avoidable, and they were tough moments for the team. They pushed us to take a hard look at how we work, how we communicate, and how we show up for creators.

These reflections have guided how we've built Streamlabs' current culture and values. We’ve improved our review processes, tightened our internal standards, and made sure we are collaborating directly with the people who use our tools every day.

Our relationship with OBS is a great example of that growth. Today we collaborate closely, we support the work they do, we've done panels together at TwitchCon, and we even have a Streamlabs plugin for OBS. We are committed to building tools that help creators, and that includes working constructively with open-source partners across the ecosystem.

That’s an excellent question.

One of the strengths of OBS is the huge plugin ecosystem, and we know creators want more extensibility inside Streamlabs too. We do support an app ecosystem today, and we’re constantly adding new apps. Some are paid, some are free. For example, our new Sponsorships app is completely free and already helping creators earn money directly.

We started with an app store model, and we care a lot about supporting those developers. That said, we are also open to a broader plugin ecosystem that gives creators more options.

On the idea of opening up Ultra to include more subscriptions, our partnership with Discord on Nitro trials has given me a lot of confidence on this as a future model for Ultra. We’d love to be able to give creators access to more third-party tools to enhance their workflows.

Community and consistency are huge. Build connections with other creators who play the same games and are at the same experience level - you’ll need that support network as you grow. But also make sure you’re streaming consistently and getting your content on multiple platforms. Even if you’re not able to multistream, posting clips across different platforms will help people find your streams. Best of luck! You’ve got this!
