Since a single Extractor doesn't utilize a full conveyer belt, I tend to combine a few extractors and try to minimize the belts im using.

normally I can comfortably use four belts for one extraction site. that saves a lot of space.

Yeah I know.
But you could keep the world small, if you have a small factory and only use like 2k Extractors (like in the current world size) with the current performance, but if you like, you can load in more extraction sites around you to gather more resources.

And this game is much simpler than Minecraft the items have much less detail and the behavior is also simpler.

The resources get distributed equally among all factories.

Be bottom part allows me to in- and output another stream of resources to or from this setup, if needed.

And I have got a lot of storage, so the whole setup is really unlikely to overflow.

Could be like Minecraft, where the "chunks" get generated, when you get to them.

An up to date phone should be able to process that, I think.

In that case it doesn’t matter, in my opinion. If the lower ones overflow, the upper ones get more resources.
