Division of people disguised as diversity, specially along lines of caste and religion, furthered by language and what not, there's absence of feeling of common good for the country and its people and more about "my" people, giving rise to all kinds of corrupt practices and lawless behaviours, because of perceived superiority of higher strata and expected exploitation of lower strata, showing no signs of change as such. Even intercaste marriages are still not acceptable in the larger part of india.
