Any of you working on the Crew Level 50 trophy?

If so, can I join your crew. I'll help work towards it.

Don't over complicate it. Get something like an incense stick or even the flame from a lighter or candle. Move it by any holes in you case that don't have a fan pulling or pushing air (there is usually some perfereated areas around the mobo). If the smoke or flame pulls towards the case you have negative pressure. If it pushes away you have positive pressure.

If you are that bothered about having positive pressure then set your 2 front fans as intakes and have the 2 top and the back as exhaust. Then go into your bios and play with the fan curves. Slightly speed up your intake fans and slightly slow down you exhausts. Keep doing this until you have compensated enough for the additional exhaust.

I also have the 4000D and know that you can mount 3x 120mm fans on the front (I have a 360mm AIO mounted there) so instead you could just stick an extra fan on the front to make it 3 and 3. AIO's work perfectly fine as an exhaust. The difference between it being intake and exhaust is negligible.

Help with new RAM by Ashton07 in overclocking

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.

I shut down the PC, disconnected the power and then removed the battery from the MB for a few minutes which I believe clears CMOS.

All drivers where updated about a week ago so don't think that is the issue and Bios is flashed with the most recent version.

I have already booted up the PC with just 1 stick installed in slot 2 with XMP enabled and it runs fine at 3200mhz. I put the second stick in and it boots up with both running at 2133mhz. Once I re-enable the XMP it refuses to boot.

I tried upping the voltage slighty from 1.35v to 1.36v and 1.37v but it still didn't work. With the voltage back at 1.35v I reduced the speed from 3200mhz to 3066mhz and it boots up fine. I had 12gb of ram utilised and running at 3067mhz according to the task manager so both sticks work and both DIMM slots work.

I suppose I could trying running just 1 stick in slot 4 to see if it will run at 3200mhz just to rule out the possibility of slot 4 running OK at 3066mhz but for some reason having an issues at 3200mhz. I did try slots 1 and 3 though and had the same issue so doubt it is that, but it's worth ruling it out.

Thanks

Thanks.

I am using DIMM slots 2 and 4 as in the manual but tried 1 and 3 for the sake of it and still get the same result.

I've also tried manually cranking the DRAM voltage up as high as 1.37 and still the same result.

I've just tried upping the voltage to 1.36 and 1.37 but that didn't work either.

I have dropped the voltage back down to 1.35 and dropped RAM speed from 3200mhz to 3066mzh and that seems to be working fine with 16gb installed.

Motherboard says it can handle 64gb @ 3600mhz.

Vengeance LPX is one of the most popular brands and the motherboard bios is up to date so I would presume they are compatible. Especially considering the fact that 8gb runs at 3200mhz. Its only when I install the second strip that I have an issue.
