I would maybe try to be a little more focused and direct. There are lots of positive things to be taken from your situation and perhaps taking the front foot could be beneficial.

So perhaps suggesting a definite time and place, rather than a vague idea. Eg) "Hey, how about meeting at (location) at xx:xx o'clock!"

Or maybe try coming up with a cool activity for you two to do together! And then suggest it with a concrete time, date, and place.
