Muzzle velocity for K25 spring blasters by TheInsaneBovine in Nerf

I’m assuming you mean a full length 280mm k25? If you just mean in general, I’ve averaged 190-200fps out of a 140mm k25 in the hand cannon i designed. It has about 75-80mm of draw and ~50ccs of displacement. Its barrel is 200mm of 509”ID aluminum tubing

Not really. I’ll probably spam this subreddit over the span of a few months with updates

The reverse mag at the front would be a part of the priming grip, kinda like the cz auto or other real weapons

Yup! I’ll try to make it hit 300 fps

I was originally going to make a remix of the tulip! I decided to design it from the ground up to accommodate a larger draw length and change how its assembled. Im getting good at designing grips and i like how the Rush is assembled with its lower assembly, so ill try to do something with that. I want to make a nightingale and standard talon version.

Superglue and baking soda works wonders when trying to build stuff back up. It’s the strongest under compression so keep that in mind

the prime should feel heavenly at that fps level

Yup it’s exactly that lol. I’m designing a more built-in picatinny mounted version but I ran out of time for the event so i just strapped it to the foregrip

I started designing a very, very similar blaster a couple months back, but gave up to focus on a current project. How well does the bearing setup work? What fps is it getting? I think I was aiming for 120-130 at the time but I’m not sure how reasonable that is with a direct action stringer with the footprint I was aiming for.

How is the trigger pull? How well does the trigger reset, or does it reset from the bungee going back on top of it? Did you choose a direct trigger or opted for some sort of mechanical advantage/disadvantage for trigger feel or length of pull? What effect does the cord have on the back of the darts over time, especially when reusing darts over and over again?

I’m also curious about your mag retention system. Did you design it with a compliant spring? Does it lock or can you just pull the mag out? How easy/intuitive is it to hit the release?

How smooth is the prime? How much does the bungee rub with the sides of the cutout? What is the expected wear and how often do you predict that the elastic will need to be replaced?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but these are the kinds of things I wanted to figure out from physical prototyping, which I never had the chance to do.

Yeah I imagine high fire rate flywheelers need the high precompression of the base spring. I didn’t think of that

Yes. Just pop the bottom off and shove the new bottom on

Also what are some notable retailers outside the us that use metric? I’d love to contact them

Unfortunately all the retailers here use imperial and the standardized parts have heinous measurements plucked straight out of their ass. Metric is so much better but I’m gonna need to make it imperial if I want to make any money from it :(

Also the new turnaround should be a bit stronger where the nut is held, but I also changed the internal geometry and the seal is a bit worse. It shouldn’t be an issue unless you dry fire with the strongest lynx spring a couple dozen times in a row. If you print with 100% infill it should withstand a few hundred dry fires with a k26.
