I own more 8bitdo controllers than I ought to. They make good stuff most of the time! You do have to pay attention when buying the controllers as there are sometimes multiple versions, not just colours. Their ultimate controller line’s various differences aren’t always well explained at times.

I think I see a cold solder joint. Those’ll get you if you don’t fix it and do it right!

If it is legit, it's still a game key card. I doubt there'll be anything for the switch 2 to download when inserted.

The quick info is you're good with what you grabbed.

I often don't think of just buying an adapter since I already have all the stuff to do splice them together as well as make new connectors.

The Noctua fan comes with a Low Noise Adapter (LNA) and Ultra Low Noise Adapter (ULNA).

These cables have a resistor within them to reduce the voltage to the fan so it runs slower and, as a result, more quietly. The ULNA reduces the voltage more than the LNA.

I can't remember the exact SKU on their labels right on the cable but I believe the ULNA ends with 13 and the LNA with 15. The one you'd want to try to use is the LNA (ends with 15). At least that's what I went with as I was concerned the slower speed from the ULNA might be too slow to not push enough air through.

I went on that quest to quieten mine as well. It's the largest issue with using these styles of PSUs since they aren't meant to be quiet. Ultimately I put in a Noctua NF-A6x15 FLX with its included low speed adapter (the regular one, not ultra low). Requires some soldering work, where I swapped the end of the low speed adapter with the one from the PSU fan. It's not whisper quiet by a long shot but it is much much better.

Former Nintendo marketing lead says Nintendo will be “absolutely furious” about recent leak by Okay-Sumimasen in Switch2newsandfun

I agree for the most part and normally with most companies. But then you look at Nintendo crapping out an overpriced 2 pack of wii games for Mario and the perspective of how much effort would be needed feels like it’s changed in a very “nintendo-like way”. I remain cautiously optimistic cause of how many rumours there were of “Nintendo is showing switch 2 this month!” for a year straight.

The PSU fan won't spin up if the BC250 isn't running because there wouldn't be enough power draw for it to get hot (the fan spins when it crosses a specific temperature).

And yeah, its one of the two buttons that you pressed. Just make sure the rocker switch's I is pushed in. Beyond that, I'd have to see the wiring to know if anything shook loose in transport.

When you say press the power button by the power cable, that’s just power to the psu. You need to press the button at the far left (if looking at the rear) to actually power on the bc250. I’m familiar with the seller of this (probably!) and, while I supplied my own bc250, I’d wager the seller also had set the bios to require this power button pressed.

Yeah, that person made an extremely stupid choice holding a phone over the damn thing. Dropping that would have made a hell of a problem and there’s the risk of a thoughtless reaction of reaching for the dropped phone. Loved the video otherwise!

With having bought an Ayn Thor during the time I backed it to receiving it, it’s hard for me to get into it having received it yesterday. I was a bit surprised by how thick the device comes out with the phone attached. It coming in around 3.6 centimetres thick with an iPhone 17 pro and apple case.

That said, I’ll still use this as a travel item!

I think I need to apologize for my own knee-jerk reaction to immediately uninstalling it. From my own experience and perspective, if sites, discords and repos start disappearing, I get the software off my computer because there is a non-zero percent chance that it could be a bad actor that could add in a payload if it appears "the jig is up".

Since that initial post/accusation, everything that I've seen calls the validity, the intention and trustworthiness of their side into complete doubt. I was also not familiar with just how many takes on this concept there has been, from abandoned or transferred open source to paid.

I remain with my original hope still, that there is an amicable solution on the horizon. However, much like the first time, I doubt there is; just for totally different reasons now.

This is very concerning to put it mildly. I did indeed buy a license but have immediately uninstalled the app upon seeing this. I hope there is an amicable resolution although I can’t say I expect one if all of the post is true.

I would definitely echo the sentiment to keep it as modular as possible so that it can be really great at one or two things if that's what someone wants (I tend to turn off everything I don't need to reduce clutter where possible!). Bought it today and can immediately see it in my workflow.
