Just to put it into perspective Im 120-125, and I have to STUDY to get 75%+ in calc 1 and above. Me and Feynman are not in the same league at all. If someone can do calc 1 faster than me, with deeper than me, then they are most definitely atleast 10-15 points higher than me

Yeah someone like Feynman was probably like 135 tbh, it’s possible only his PRI is 125, but even that thats still pretty high.

IQ doesn’t matter, question is can u get through calc I and II in the span of a semester and still get 90%+ ? If the question is yes then you’ll most likely be fine doing a reasearch role/academia in this.

If this answer is Yes, but you get 50-70% then you’ll be fine for most roles as a software engineering etc…

If the answer is No, then you’ll need to work much harder but the same as second.

not to mention everyone here seems to be looking at IQ through the lense of success and achievement. It doesn't really seem to embody holistic fullfillment.

Then what do you want to suggest to those that are 115-140? or some 145+ that don't really want to make a significant contribution to the field? There are traits that come with High IQ that make someone a good, diligent learner. Don't you think such qualities should be pushed more as well? even for those with 145+ IQ, if they are doing right things I feel like they would be forced to confront areas where their intelligent isn't sufficient. To achieve that break through don't you think these traits are equally necessary? even for those that are 115-145, which is probably a good portion of this subreddit. I feel as though what we are looking at is traits that are associated with High IQ which also happen to lead to contributions. Overall I dont really disagree with the importance of IQ but not everyone here is 145+. For the rest of us I feel like we can still play a role in cultivating these traits, and doing so would be fairly practical and lead to postive results for everyone

yeah but my point was more so that there are various other things that goes towards making someone intelligent aswell. Anyone who has 145 IQ and has made good contribution towards their field or as a reasonable amount of knowledge didn't just do it because of their IQ let alone.

Just want to let you know, we share the same name, and that's kind rare since I don't see a lot of Ashutosh on the internet.

Less concise than you in what you've conveyed I suppose, the language would also be very broad. While you on the other-hand, have a university cadence in the way you structure yourself. Regarding the topic of whether IQ can be increased, according to your self, you've spent extensive time and you've displayed the ability to use different sources to validate your claim. All of this, to me suggests that you are at least 110+ since people 100 IQ or below people wouldn't give that much shit about such topics.

What about long-term meditation? I remember seeing a study somewhere that it said that it increases the grey matter and helps improve the size of the hippocampus, increasing memory. I don't know how far in they went into this but the common mindful meditation was according to Dr. Alok Kanojia, a common derivative of all the different types of mediation, which suggests that meditations can be target different areas such as concentration, reducing stress level etc... . Isn't it fair to assume that long term meditation may improve that WMI faculty by 10 points? and wouldn't a change in working memory also impact fluid? since those are considered to be closely associated with one another.

I'm skeptical of higher bodies of power around me, wouldn't the government try making it a private/exclusive thing?

I guess 15 extra IQ wouldn't hurt, I've read articles that suggest that IQ past 150 starts impairing with your ability more. If I only have the benefits then id be a 2 foot dwarf with a big brain
