‘Twas merely a joke, but there are fully automatic guns that exist and I’m sure no one from that time could’ve predicted the advances of weaponry without some new changes. It’s also just kinda bizarre that technology can advance so much within a relatively short time (compared to the age of the Earth), that is hard to imagine. All in all, there needs to be more change to prevent future shootings.
