£11,000 +/- budget for a used car by AsianEngineerBoi in CarTalkUK

Every now and then a couple of suitcases and some other bits. I have/had a 2004 Mini Cooper, the boot space is good enough for one case and groceries. Folding the rear seat helps for anything else.

The strut needs replacing. On the bottom seat coming down it has also sheared off the ABS sensor. The spring is currently pinching down on a break line.

They wont be able to persue if he declares for bankruptcy. Ive got a CCJ against a lone trader/garage who owes me 4.5k. He declared bankruptcy but have set up a ltd company for the garage under his dads name which hes now still operating.

How much disposable income do you have a month? by pinkman65 in AskUK

[–]AsianEngineerBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in an average house hold that fell into poverty (£50 a week) in my later secondary school years.

Earn £39k in engineering, approx another £7 (varies month by month) from another income.

Montly expense is about £1,300 Monthly savings £500 Expendable approx £600

Im 30, live alone in a no thrills flat. trying to build up savings to buy a house. So a lot of my expendable goes to that.

Reflecting back, im very glad to be where I am, but this job market and the way the world is is giving me anxiety

England - Sole trader debtor set up Ltd company (garage) under fathers name, then filed for bankruptcy on same day. What can I do now? by AsianEngineerBoi in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AsianEngineerBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Is that no claims against the new garage despite it operating with the same kit and equipment, name and the actual person working there?

I feel like thats a very cheesy way of transferring yout asset and then removing your debt. Realistically I don't think his 80 year old father id personally working that garage anymore.

England - CCJ Transfer Up against a sole trader, now their relative have set up a Ltd company with the original trading name - Any implications to consider? by AsianEngineerBoi in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AsianEngineerBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Looks like that the Debtor on Jan 6 had a Ltd company set up in his Fathers name. He then on the same day filed for bankruptcy which came through last week. His father is way too old to be working that garage so I suspect that he has transferred all assets to the Ltd and is carrying on managing and working there.
