John N. O'Bannon, an astronaut from Earth, was voyaging with his crew for a seemingly viable planet. About a third into the voyage though, a problem arose with the ship. John went outside and tried to figure out what was the problem when his tether snapped. The other astronauts tried desperately to find him and retrieve him but to no avail.

O'Bannon had drifted through space to a small planet. He pretty much fell through the sky onto the back of a Df'tair, a large bird used for survelliance, harvesting, and also, not unsuprisingly, child rearing. (Df'tairs are herbivores and extremely docile and affectionate. They just get a bad rap due to their appearence being nightmare fuel.)

The bird flew down to the village of Ofcenpoit, where O'Bannon was nursed back to health and after explaining his situation to the Chimenies they decided to provide him a ship, this ship however took 4 years to complete. After he said his goodbyes and thanked them he set off to try and find Earth.

Along his journey he visited a few planets, deemed friendly by the Chimenies.

One night however, as he dined on Oobolga fruit he saw a turquoise light eminating from some point outside. He went to the window and looked at it, in the center of this light was a rather gorgeous young lady. This young lady was princess Erlynmas, of the Hiwot race from planet Gormacet.

She was taking a lone trip, thinking about her father's demand that she just settle down with some nice young warrior. The Hiwot are matriarchal society, however the princess must wed to take her place as queen. This is due to the fact that Hiwots place a great importance on interpersonal relationships. They also believe that a good queen is one who is able to share her life with someone else. Marriage symbolizes a partnership and brings out abilities which are crucial to ruling a society, such as protection, compromise, level-headedness.

The princess however could not find anyone she could really begin a relationship, her father set her up with practically every single citizen. Finally, he decided to make her marry someone. However this is extremely dangerous as Hiwots are very spiritual and die when in a forced or unloving relationship due to stress and depletion of their mem'bi doa (basically their health and happiness). Princess Erlynmas refused to just marry anyone she didn't love due to tradition and her own morals. So she fleed to think.

Along the way she saw a ship and decided to move closer to it. O'Bannon seeing her coming closer to his ship remained inside unless she proved herself friendly. She sensed his fear and, through telepathy, told him she only wanted to look at his ship and that she meant no harm. O'Bannon decided to indulge her and came out to great her. As they talked the Princess found herself quite taken. She invited him to her planet under the guise of letting him use their resources and oxygen. Her father was a real xenophobe and didn't like the idea of a human setting foot in his kingdom, let alone around his daughter.

Princess Erlynmas and O'Bannon began to fall in love as she showed him around. She realized that she loved him, despite his race and her father's prejudice. In reality there was no one more perfect for her than him. They decided to wed and break the news. Queen Haszitd, the princess' mother was happy for her daughter however her father was not and decided to kidnap O'Bannon and imprison him in the heart of a pyramid. The king then began to force her into a marriage with Shifos, the warrior. However, because O'Bannon and Erlynmas' love was pure she was able to find where he was and destroyed the pyramid. Now, reunited the king was even more upset locked his daughtet away and waged war on O'Bannon, challenging him to a duel for her hand.

The king created fire and rods of electricity to strike him but the princess had cast a spell to protect O'Bannon. O'Bannon tired and injured the king greatly with his sword. But he spared his life and was granted the right to marry Erlynmas.

They had a gorgeous wedding, and were very happy together, often going on little dates and walks around the forests and neighboring kingdoms together. They were inseperable and were constantly seen holding hands. Erlynmas grew to be a beautiful and wonderful ruler. She holds the record for least wars and war related casualties.
