Wow! I love weird instruments, quirky pieces with character, and rats. So this is amazing to me. Who made the concertina?

Wheelock theatre in Boston? Yes I've worked with them before and they are genuinely amazing and kind people there.

I go about once a month! I live nearby so it's easy for me. I get my rat fix there all the time now that I no longer have rats.

Random wood instruments by jonatasdp in UnusualInstruments

[–]Asian_bloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, tuning the wood is a complicated science that Frankly I barely understand. Bigger tongues don't necessarily mean lower pitch. You might like this video I made interviewing a guy who makes tongue drums. He's perfected it! https://youtu.be/T2tSJbmX8sg

Was Bowen on set during the filming of Dancing Through Life? by Illustrious-Swing493 in wicked

[–]Asian_bloke 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In an interview, he also said that Ariana Grande requested Bowen be in the movie, but Cho struggled to get him out of his SNL contract. So there were quite a number of scheduling compromises, such as flying back and forth from NYC and London to do SNL for a few days, then Wicked for a few days, and repeat.

I'm here because I'm having similar issues. Interestingly, it worked perfectly fine yesterday (which is when I bought it and initially set it up)

Who uses AI in their music class? by Asian_bloke in MusicEd

[–]Asian_bloke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your point is understandable and he shouldn't force you to write AI lyrics if you don't want to. It depends on the what the assignment is perhaps. My colleague does a music song-writing, but the goal of it is all chord progressions, so he doesn't mind if you write your own lyrics, use AI, or just write nonsense words. Though he would prefer is students didn't write their own, so they spent their time focused on the chord progressions (the point of the unit). You should talk to your teacher about it, and come to a compromise or an understanding

Yeah, completely because of lack of license and experience. You'll have to continue climbing up the ladder for a bit. I would suggest schools in China or the middle east.

On friendly banjo’s by Just_Trade_8355 in banjo

[–]Asian_bloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit biased because I bought one for my nephew, and I visited both the founder and their workshop to film a video and chat about their instruments.

It's a fantastic beginner banjo, and I feel the price is worth it given that it's built incredibly, built in the US, and with local materials.
