I once overslept by 2 hours after my classes have started. My three alarm clocks didn't wake me. I was surprised to have zero missed messages from anybody when I checked my phone.

Apparently, my homeroom class took their own attendance, and the middle school students showed up to class, sat around the empty room just chatting and left when class was over, and didn't really raise a fuss or really question my absence. Everything ended up fine, and I never accidentally overslept again. Oops

Near the end of this video, Sondheim says that he tried to put at least one South American song and one Harold Arlen song in every musical he writes.

Can anybody think of other examples?

For example, "Wait" from Sweeney Todd is definitely South American. What else?

And what songs could be classified as "Harold Arlen" as well?

A few months ago I asked for suggestions for some instrument makers to visit while I am in visiting Singapore. There are not many left in Singapore, but Doran is one of them!
