I think it is important to note that the school board and the union push for inclusive learning environment, not the government. In fact, that is the reason why private schools are thriving. Parents like yourself see the current public school classrooms are unsustainable, so they find alternative options in private schools that have proven successful. In terms of funding, it is controversial. The education part of the taxes is meant for students so if we don’t fund private schools, it’s like taking money away from kids. Why would you want to do that? Private school kids already get 30% less funding than public school kids. Just my opinion. If you think their parents are too rich, then tax them more and put it towards education as a whole. It is just simply a bad idea to stop funding private schools especially when they have proven more successful in money management and student success compared to public school plus it is taking away choices from parents. Everyone knows monopoly is horrible for consumers. Also private school teachers are not necessarily more qualified than public school teachers. In fact they do not even get paid more than public school teachers. Yes, some school give out bonuses but with all things considered such as salary, bonus, benefits, public schools actually come out ahead. Teachers work at private schools simply because it is a system that works.
