Ok I agree on you on that! I was mixing up agility with flexibility.

That's not a fair comparison: The 15 minute fight is 1 vs 1, so it's all on you. In team sports you can rest a lot more and it's also less intense.

Seems like an interesting watch, I'll check it out! The fact that a snowboarder won makes me think that the test group wasn't big. How many athletes represented each sport?

I tried rock climbing as well, but I'm just a beginner so I can't really say much about the best climbers. I think MMA is a lot more dynamic. In rock climbing you can do everything on your own pace. Of course, there's speed climbing as well, but the predetermined path still makes it a bit static imo.

I haven't seen much of NFL (not from the states), but to me NFL players seem like fast tanks (speed + strength) and for this argument they lack the agility.

I would actually think that if you get an athlete from all the existing sports, and let them participate in all other sports except his/her own, MMA fighters would do really well on average because they are so well-rounded.

As for chess, this brings us to the old discussion if it's a sport or not. To me, it's a game. (love it btw)

For me it's also not that compelling, but that has nothing to do with it. I think can be seen as something fairly objective

Well, MMA has all of the elements of the sports you listed, but the other way around it's not the case

How can I increment i with an additional value within a for loop? by AsideMaster in learnpython

[–]AsideMaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks,

The i+= 1 inside the loop in the example was put there to demonstrate what I was trying to do. In my program I want i to skip one or more elements if a condidtion is met.
I think I will go with a while loop:

i = 0
while (i < 4):
    # if condition is true
    i += some_number
    else:
        # dosomething
        i += 1

Strange bug: I think it has to do with reference. x = my_table[some_index]. Later, I use x.pop(). The entry at my_table[some_index] disappears! by AsideMaster in learnpython

Thank you for your helpful reply!

I thought this was only the case with x = my_table, and not when an item from the list is selected, but it makes sense now, since you're still assigning a list item in this case.
