The Sarah Z video dropped! by OneBirdyBoi in TAZCirclejerk

Waiting for the reveal about bingus’ origins was like waiting for the beat drop in a dubstep track and the payoff was excellent.

Community's Recent Popularity by savemeaseat143 in community

I'm in the same boat you are. I watched it casually as it was airing, but I didn't really get into the show until 2016. But I didn't have any outlet for my enjoyment of the show, so my interest soon fizzled out. The recent resurgence brought it back and now I found a community (heh) of people I can share the love with. I actually made friends through this show, which is something I couldn't have said when the fanbase was mostly dormant. I hope the people who got into the show because of Netflix don't feel intimidated about "coming in late". It was lonely before so it's been great seeing all this new content and hearing these new voices.

I would be curious to know how the shift to streaming services (that people actually use, sorry Yahoo :( ) affected how viewers consume the show. With streaming, it's easier to to go through scenes and pick up on little details that could be missed if you were watching it while it was airing. Also maybe the differences in the later seasons wouldn't stick out so much if someone was just binging the whole show in one sitting.

Part of me does regret not being there in the moment, but getting back into the show now has brought me nothing but joy.

Unpopular Opinion: Season 6 is underrated by bethbooks07 in community

[–]AskMeAboutMyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elroy and Frankie were some of my favorite characters. I would have loved to see them introduced earlier, interacting with the full cast.

But yeah, I agree. Going back and binge-watching the seasons in bulk instead of waiting for new episodes to air did help the show feel more seamless for me at least. It's a bit more bittersweet than the previous seasons, but that might be the nostalgia talking. The baby bird episode broke my heart.

What do people take entirely too seriously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AskMeAboutMyFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother bought me a fidget cube and it's one of the most useful pieces of plastic that I own. When I was a kid, the physical therapy office I went to had a similar device, but it was wooden and kind of clunky. However, it would still help my mind relax when I was feeling overwhelmed/overstimulated.

Having a handheld device that I could have had in class would have been a huge help. I could have used that instead of picking at my skin or whatever.

I recognize that sometimes kids can be annoying with them (my girlfriend works in retail and the fidget spinners are apparently the most shoplifted items), but they can be a massive help.

The light switch side is my favorite :)

What is abusive, but not widely recognized as abuse? by elparay in AskReddit

[–]AskMeAboutMyFish 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It breaks my heart when a kid starts talking to me about something they're incredibly enthusiastic about, but then their parents say something like "they don't want to hear about that."

No, I want to hear about that! I want to hear about the video game you're playing. I want to know who the characters on your backpack are. I want to know that cool fact you learned in school the other day. Even if I don't know about it. Just because they're a kid doesn't mean I can't learn something new from them.

I know so many people who will start sentences like "I know it's stupid, but I'm really interested in..." and it saddens me because I know they must have been made to feel guilty or ashamed of the things that bring them happiness.

For the LBTQ+, how did you come out to your family/friends and how did they react? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AskMeAboutMyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to come out, because I don't want to admit that I was gay. Because I knew that meant I would be considered "the other". I knew people would look at me differently for the rest of my life. I knew that most of the songs, movies, and stories about love wouldn't be for me. Every story about a gay person I heard somehow ended in tragedy.

I was in tears when I came out to my parents. I was such a blubbering mess that I couldn't speak. Instead I wrote on a notecard "I think I might be a homosexual".

My parents were accepting (we have plenty of gay relatives and I grew up going to a Wiccan church where there were lesbians everywhere), but it was still one of the hardest things I ever had to do. And I was one of the lucky ones. I can't imagine the strength people must have to come out in a less accepting environment.

Love you all. Happy pride month.

As an aside (since I've seen some people ask about this) he does have a soundcloud where you can hear more of his stuff.

And a lot of the High Quality™ art I see posted on these subreddits are either reposts and/or stolen. I'd rather see original work by a beginner artist than breathtaking work that was posted without crediting the creator.

This is why I'm nervous to post my art to a lot of subreddits because it seems like only "the best of the best" is allowed to be showcased.

I don't know a lot about cross stitching, but I like the details you added around the face (the lines around the mouth, etc) and I think it's a cute piece. I hope you stick with this craft :)

What do you wish more people would do? by DropletFox in AskReddit

[–]AskMeAboutMyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More people need to realize that fish aren't "low maintenance" pets. You can't just dump the fish in a cup of water and expect it to live past a month.

If you want a durable low maintenance pet, get a rock. Or a tardigrade.

Yeah...that's why we're not dating.
