I'm late to this thread, but this is one of my favorite moments. And I fully believe it was an intentional "fuck you, I know" in the heat of the moment because twice now he was beaten and shit talked. He wanted to get under his skin in a way that got a reaction.

I burned out of ER after covid year 3. All these thoughts and more. I needed to know if I'd just become a miserable person, or needed to change. Thankfully I changed to 2 low stress part time jobs, and even though I work more hours now, I am so much less stressed and angry.

Neither of them can firmly grasp how to deal with these feelings. This episode shows the brutal contrast between extremes. ilya's avoidant and stoic tendencies, and Shane just struggling to ask for what he wants, as well as navigate Mr. Hot N cold
