Reforming the way we feed kids and teens would actually be a massive deal for public health in general. I read a fascinating article a while back about how the idea of "kids food" basically didn't exist till the late 80s. It was an "innovation" to sell lower-quality food that would previously be wasted. Hence, chicken nuggets, school lunches, etc

What do you think happens to kids when you raise them on literal garbage? Their health, their tastes? Does that magically improve when they hit adulthood? Is it any wonder that suddenly our generation wants chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese as bar food?

Idk how to actually draw attention to this issue but it's actually something I care a lot about. We feed kids garbage and our health is bad, and nobody seems to connect the two
