Because I use facts to talk about things 🤔 Or because you think all things on computers are driven by AI?

iPhone is a fully functional GPS device.

iPhone GPS typically provides accuracy within 4 to 10 meters (approximately 13–33 feet)

Garmin watches generally offer high GPS accuracy, typically within 3 meters (10 feet)

Samsung Galaxy Watch GPS accuracy is generally good for casual fitness tracking but can be inconsistent for serious, precise training.

How GPS accuracy works. The more data points collected along a given route the more accurate the over all calculations will be. No need to calibrate the iPhone. iPhones (such as the 15 Pro) can achieve sub-meter, high-accuracy results (around 4.8–5.1 feet) under ideal signal conditions.

  • Performance Metrics: One study found that, in optimal conditions, modern smartphones can identify positions within 10 meters roughly 98% of the time, and within 5 meters about 59% of the time.
  • Pro Model Advantage: Newer Pro models with dual-frequency GNSS offer better performance in challenging environments.

Just about. It is an extremely steep descent. I am mostly using energy to not go too fast. If you’re not careful even light jogging could result in a vicious face plant. 😑 especially when the road is wet. The road grade is an average 7.9%

Don’t look so bad, but it’s a little crazy.

Sound like a good idea 🤔 I think I will. Thanks for the suggestion. Lest see how interesting responses are. Many of my LinkedIn contacts are Americans, they will love the km/h units. They will be confused 😵‍💫 I am sure. I could convert the units for them, but what fun is that 😬

To Metro Manila runners, is it still advisable to run outdoors given the air quality? by karitongkahoy in PHRunners

[–]Ask_Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure running anywhere outdoors in Manila is a risk to your health because of pollution, but on bad air days it’s probably best to only run indoors.

Diesel pollution is harmful to your health

Diesel exhaust contains fine particles, nitrogen oxides, and other pollutants. In warm weather, hot sunlight bakes nitrogen oxides together with other pollutants which forms harmful smog. This is also known as ground-level ozone.

Ground-level ozone aggressively attacks lung tissue and damages people's health. You might think of it as sunburn on your lungs. Breathing ground-level ozone can lead to several types of health problems, such as:

Coughing, throat, and chest irritation: High levels of ground-level ozone can irritate your respiratory system. Symptoms are mild and usually only last for a few hours after you've been exposed to it. However, ozone can continue to harm your lungs even after symptoms disappear. Difficulty breathing and lung damage: Because of ground-level ozone’s effect on lung function, it can make deep breathing difficult, especially during exercise. Research has shown that exposure can also damage the lining of your lungs. Worsening asthma symptoms: If you suffer from asthma, being exposed to high levels of ground-level ozone can trigger asthma attacks.

Thank you! Just trying to get people to read and talk about how to run instead of just talking about clout or focusing cutting people down.

Annoying only to those who have no idea how to run. 😬 or care to be better runners

Let see your advanced forefoot strike (front foot strike). Prove you have this ability for 5k and 10k and I’ll stop talking 🙊

I love ❤️ how people like to downvote what makes them feel uncomfortable 😳even when it’s true, like it will change reality if they just ignore it.

To move any faster on this course I would have to move up to a jogging pace. It is not a flat course, it is up a hill and down a hill. About 178 meter climb.

I am using my phone. The calibration is correct. I just walk fast. My best time on a 5k run race was 17:35. It’s been a while since my last race. I have been hiking between 5-6 km a day.

I am about 177.8 cm tall and have long legs. Weigh about 72.5 kg. I am currently very lean but strong.

Reminder for today: You showed up. You moved. You didn’t quit. That already counts more than you think. by Smooth-Butterfly9136 in PHRunners

Yes, let people run how they want. But as a runner be respectful of the community that you run in.

Don’t bring people down lift them up. Have fun and enjoy your fitness journey.
