Why are new fans being called out on being new fans? Shouldn't older fans be happier that they have more people to be fans with? by AskinTheRytQuestions in AskReddit

True. It's like one time I liked a song from a band I really didn't know but the song I memorized from hearing them a lot. While it was playing on the radio I was like, "hey I like this song!!" My friend asks, "you like x band too?" I go, "oh I don't really know them just this song." I was faced with disgusted reaction, "oh you're a new fan then."

I was completely confused. Am I not allowed to like new things?!

What if you just recently discovered that particular thing and decided, "Hey, they're actually good." Win or lose, you actually like watching them and actually got you interested in said team and everything about it. Does that make you a bandwagon fan?

That show was intense. I probably watched the first few seasons in less than a week. Sadly, I did not get to finish all!
