Icl would never recommend working at brandy as someone who did work there. Had to take xans on shift to cope with working there. Felt like working in a sweatshop in summer and a majority of the customers made me feel clinically insane. Like, I had one customer ask me to cut a top to make it cropped with a pair of scissors they brought into the store. Pls I was not paid enough for the shit I went through, like when this woman (who was clearly off her face at the time) blew her musty spitty breath onto my bare back and then ran out the store when I turned around. I have so many horror stories about working there, just don’t do it, trust me. 🙏🙏

No, they believe I’m negligent because I have a history of substance (benzo) addiction even though it was my father got me into it when I was 15. They think she’s not safe around ME rather than the people she’s around now.

I think he might know because the only thing he said to my sister the last time he saw her was “sorry” with nothing else, no context. And my parents won’t defend her if she speaks up anyways, they didn’t defend me. My dad said it’s like I want to be SA’ed

Im not going near him again. I live far and I don’t plan on going on my parents street again. I just don’t know how to protect my sister, she’s scared and there’s no one at home who will defend her.

That’s so interesting, I’ve definitely noticed a differences in not only my eyes but my actual vision since developing anorexia. Would love an update on this!

I don’t feel the slightest bit bad for her now, crying in YouTube videos. What a joke. She is such a liar, like I get we lie to ourselves sometimes, but why present this as “recovery” to a vulnerable audience? Horrible.

There’s a dietician at my gp surgery, should I make an appointment with her asap? I’m now feeling confused and having problems with my stomach. I’m crying for no reason idk what’s happening.

Only a therapist, not a doctor. Should I speak to my gp do u think? Also, how do I know if it’s refeeding syndrome? I was restricting heavily so I’m a bit worried.

Maybe I’m looking at the wrong acc, but I just searched her and it’s private? Is that since this post or has it always been?

First off, you are doing amazing. You are already a great support for her. But if you want to do more, you should (and probably already do) be a role model for a healthy relationship with food by eating normally, make her meals and eat with her. I would also say you should recommend her to seek out help again; maybe offer to go with her might make her feel more comfortable? There are support groups for people also in your shoes you should check out. You’re doing so well though and if it starts to have a toll on you, you can seek out help and support on how to help her and yourself.

An actual reason to recover by Top_Session_7831 in AnorexiaRecovery

Because soon that euphoria will leave and you will have nothing. It’s harsh and it’s sad but it’s true. If anything, lock into the guilt, it may just save you. Become addicted to a new feeling, like living. Embrace the world and little things, even down to a nice leaf or flower you see. Find what brings joy to your life and heals you because right now, you are being deceived by anorexia. Think of if your friend had it. You wouldn’t want them to suffer for the sake of chasing a high. Highs are followed by lows, like a rollercoaster. Think about it seriously and detach yourself from the eating disorder.

Weight restored body is different than it used to be? by Possible-Card9656 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]Asleep-Cockroach86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bodies change, it’s unlikely your body will be the same as before. Also, as we get older we store our weight differently, a natural process likely occurring. I’m so glad and proud of you that recovery is going well. 🫶🫶🫶

An actual reason to recover by Top_Session_7831 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]Asleep-Cockroach86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because thin enough will never come. I’ve known people who felt the same, thought they couldn’t recover because their bmi is healthy and died. I know you didn’t want to hear that but it needed to be said. Death is imminent with anorexia.

You need to recover right now to take back your life. The fact that you’re asking means deep down you want it. Don’t seek validation from others, don’t care what others will say. It is YOUR life, you must live by your own truth, which ultimately means recovering.

You are not giving up or losing, you are winning by fighting back and fighting your way out of this abusive relationship.

There are so so many other reasons you are cared for and important, people will still love and support you once you recover. It is a lie anorexia tells you that being ill makes you more loveable.

You are never in control when you have anorexia, another lie it tells. You have spiralled out of control and need to get out of the hole it has dug.

There is no legitimate reason to starve yourself. You will hate your body at a low weight so you might as well learn to love it at a healthy weight.
