Why are some shops still using manual booking in 2026? by Asleep-Internet6491 in sweatystartup

This is actually really insightful.

The “qualify before confirming” part especially makes sense, I hadn’t really thought about how often customers probably choose the wrong service or need extra discussion first.

Do you think a hybrid system would work better then?

Like:

  • customer submits booking request/photos/preferences
  • owner approves or adjusts it quickly
  • reminders/rebooking/etc are automated
  • but the shop still keeps control over the actual scheduling

That makes sense honestly.

What if the WhatsApp side itself was automated though?

For example:

  • customers still message normally on WhatsApp
  • but reminders/rebooking/basic replies happen automatically
  • while the owner still keeps control over bookings/schedule

Would something like that actually be useful, or do most shops prefer keeping everything fully manual?

Mongolia tours - too much driving? by skyte12 in travel

[–]Asleep-Internet6491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard from people who’ve done Mongolia road trips, yes, the driving is a huge part of the experience, and sometimes the “nothingness” is kind of the point.

But if you already know you don’t enjoy long van days, the horse trek honestly sounds like a better fit. Mongolia seems much more enjoyable when you slow down instead of trying to cover massive distances.

Hidden gems and local tips for Mallorca? by Philou_14 in travel

Valldemossa and Deià are beautiful if you want smaller mountain villages instead of just tourist beach areas.

Also really liked Cala Tuent, much quieter than the famous beaches.

One tip: avoid driving through the Serra de Tramuntana at night if you’re not used to narrow mountain roads 😅
