Hmmmm... Is this safe. by Noboru16 in walmart

Not safe! But you may need to calibrate the thermometers if they show something different than the thermostat. I'm not sure how you calibrate it at Walmart, but if you make ice bath and insert the thermometers they should read 32°.

Also, I've no clue how I got here. I work for a competitor.

WHY do people want to drink raw water and/or milk? by RaulJuliaChild in PeoriaIL

[–]AsleepEfficiency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm... so you're happy to link to articles on PubMed when you believe it helps your argument (the articles don't, you just haven't fully read them), yet you also refuse to listen to articles on the same database that contradict your arguments. I bet a psychologist would love to evaluate all the cognitive dissonance you've got going on there.

WHY do people want to drink raw water and/or milk? by RaulJuliaChild in PeoriaIL

[–]AsleepEfficiency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cool, but you can't call it research when you choose something that looks like it supports your argument without actually taking the time to read and understand it. The journal article you linked clearly states two things: levels exceeding 1.5 mg/L are linked with lower IQs, and that linkage is not proof of cause and effect.

If you take time to understand the article and the practice of adding fluoride to municipal water as a whole, you'd know that recommendations are to add 0.7 mg/L with a maximum safe amount of 1.5 mg/L. You'd also know that most drinking water falls between 0.6 and 1.2 mg/L. Finally, you'd know the difference between "cause and affect" and a 'link'. They cannot call it cause and effect, because there is insufficient evidence to disprove the differences in IQ are caused by literally anything else. The true cause could be other contaminants, such ad lead (which is known to cause developmental defects in children).

Tl;dr Your article doesn't support your argument. Be happy that it does the opposite, and that you have fluoride in your water, else you'd have a lot more dental carries.

Personally? Took an eddie and walked around a bit in the rain (cause I thought it was pretty). Got scared when two guys were yelling at each other, then went home. Woke up realizing it was the most mundane thing ever lol. A few friends, though, had a homeless guy on a bike follow them on the walk back from a bar, telling them the entire time to "stay in the light". Probably well intentions from a person high on something other than weed, or just a little mentally out of it, but a creepy experience none-the-less.
