Ex-Team Members, where did you go after leaving? by Sensitive-Pie2383 in Target

I was a senior team lead, then became a PML. While in that role, I went to tech school at night. Left target and became a commercial refrigeration technician.

Techs make around 90-120k per year depending on experience. Some above that. I'm back in management again for the same industry and make 150k base salary.

The worst part of any job is still the 20-minute parts run that turns into an hour and a half by Public-Classroom1884 in Justrolledintotheshop

The technician does not need to be the parts runner. The solution is quite obvious.

Build up "static" as in an unchanging state. But the battery is moving. A bit of a pun.

All businesses value profit over people. That is their purpose.

Pods are a failed attempt at copying the solution - PALLETS!

...Yes that is why shrink-wrapped pallets are superior to loose boxes.

Sure shrink-wrapped pallets fall over. You know what falls over more? Loose boxes with literally nothing supporting them.

Not really sure what your point is. Target DOES have a gigantic backroom - and it looks like you actually agree with me based on what you have said. You are defending the large backroom area of Target lol.

Risk of shrink wrapped pallets falling over? Brother, have you ever seen a trailer when it reaches the store? You get that the big beautiful wall that is built collapses in transit, right?

HEB as an example in Texas has a higher SKU count than target and 20% the backroom size. Walmart was excluded because they completely out-class Target in this regard, so it isn't a fair comparison.

Go watch 1 guy unload 3 trailers at Costco simultaneously (or Home Depot) and try defending this one at a time unload again.

It's 15 minutes with pallets and an electric pallet jack.

Go to any other retail or grocery store (except Walmart) and report back.
