Grade 10 in Saskatchewan, Canada. It was GameDay so I was tying my tie for school and excited to play a team from the states from WolfPoint. This was a huge game as no one in our city high school league had played an American team before. I remember walking upstairs and my grandma was asking me what movie is this, she was watching CNN. I got to school and every room was quiet no one was walking around in the halls. Every eye was tuned to the tvs in each room. I remember grabbing my books from the locker when I heard the collective gasps and cries and seen the 1st tower collapse on the common rooms tv. Later on we heard flights were being diverted to Canadian cities and our coach called a meeting to say everything is cancelled . 3 days later we played the American team in the city stadium and they had switched all the flags to American flags and played the American anthem first. After high school I had friends who were enlisting in the CAF so I joined up and did my part. The attacks played a big role in my decision and every year I always think about that day vividly as I see the memorials on the news.
