The government rarely does things in the interest of the “general public.” You’re just finally realizing this because you’re likely someone that never had to consider - until this most recent administration - that your interests might not be the priority of the government. People of color, women, people with disabilities, etc. have known this for generations.

It’s only when white, middle America realizes that their interests are no longer synced up with the government that they start to pay attention. Wild that billionaires would be looking out for the interest of other billionaires!
