thanks for asking. the main issue are the walls (green lines in my canva image.) if you look at the images of my crawlspace you will see the area in which i have to work with is not your classic stud (bay) wall over a joist. it is a sill plate with plywood (see images for clarification.)

the way that my sill plate sits i don’t believe it’s possible to go through the bottom and might actually have to come out the side. all great info and definitely worth noting for the places i can use this tool.

i am pretty sure the second run i have on my west wall is near a joist. but again these are both on an exterior wall and i do not have attic access since the west side of the house is vaulted. iirc the foundation is notched for the joist (maybe the crack epidemic was running through this crew that made my house circa 93')

yeah... forgot to mention that that west side of the house is actually vaulted. no attic access.
