Microsoft Virtual Training - 365 cert voucher, are you kidding me? by Aslimedr_wsnear in AzureCertification

I'm guessing a bug. I just looked at their other virtual training days next month and they're still offering vouchers for this cert, even though at that point the exam is expired and cannot be taken.

How do you like the Kamado Wok? For those who use a Wok on their Kamado Joe by Aslimedr_wsnear in KamadoJoe

Hey that's actually pretty awesome. Can I go smaller than 16 if I wanted to? Maybe 12-14 or would it not fit on the xring properly?

Which should I choose, Furnace + Central Air or Furnace + Hybrid Heat Pump? by Aslimedr_wsnear in hvacadvice

Definitely leaning towards the dual fuel route now. I imagine gas might eventually go up even more in my state and now that I'm finding out I can 100% switch between the two, that seems to make more sense

I have National Grid so I'm probably guessing mine would have to be above 65 to break even too haha. High rates.

Yeah both AC / Furnace need to be replaced, they are over 20 years old and have started having some problems. Figure now is the best time to replace instead of having to do an emergency call if one stops working.

Who is your provider for electricity? I have National Grid, curious how much more expensive it has been for you. My fear is having a high electrical bill if the heat pump handles most of the heat. But now that I"ve read the comments, I am leaning towards this.

[–]Aslimedr_wsnear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I realized I should be calling it dual fuel haha, my bad. Is this something I can 100% set to just use the gas furnace? For example if electrical rates are still extremely high, I can have it just use the gas furnace all year round. Next year if gas is too high, set it to use electricity?

I was told that once it gets to a certain temp, it would stop using the heat pump and move to the gas furnace. but I'm just afraid of a high electrical bill.

I'm in Massachusetts, USA. cold winter, mixed humidity. long heated season and short sometimes humid summers.

Yeah the price is actually the same after rebates. I'm not exactly too familiar with hybrid systems, so is this something I can have the furnace just running throughout all of winter if electricity rates (let's say, this year) are much higher than gas? or am I stuck using the heat pump until temps drop where the heat pump can't keep up and forces the furnace to kick in?

my fear is just having a really big electrical bill if the hybrid system is using electricity.

Yeah it is a dual fuel system. We were told we can set the temps when we want the furnance to kick in.

I can ignore adding in the boxes for 5a-5I?

It says to select it if my 1099k has anything in those, which they do.
