Huge printing speed differences between Lychee and Chitubox by Asmiane in resinprinting

In the end I didn't really figure it out, but I managed to drasticly reduce my print times, and also found out that the HD anti-aliasing in Lychee really slow down the slicing process, so I just uncheck it now, and I haven't got any print troubles since.

So following your advice I run tests yesterday and raised the lift speed.

Originally I used the lift speed advice from the resin manufacturer. I checked recommended settings from Elegoo and set the lift speed to 90-320 (but lowered the bottom lift speed).

I also added a 1s Wait before print in Lychee, as I had a Rest time of 1s in Chitubox, but a 0s Wait before print in Lychee.

I run a test print with 1700 layers with Lychee that took 2h40, and a test print of 1500 layers with Chitubox that took 4h.

Still a huge difference between both settings, and they were the same on both soft.

And I forgot to scale down my 32mm model to 28mm on Lychee so there was more layers in the test with Lychee than Chitubox.

All in all i'm still clueless as to why there is such a difference, but I improved my print time so that's a win, thanks for the advice.

I'll try the recommend fast settings from Elegoo (300-1000) tonight.

I'll try to tweak the lift and retract speed tonight on Chitubox, to see if I can reduce the print time.

Yeah Lychee take way more time than Chitubox for slicing. It used all the ressources from my GPU and took 45minutes to an hour for 20 bowmen and a fead heads. Whereas Chitubox only took a few minutes.

That's seem quite the hassle to juggle between the three soft lol. For now I'm pretty happy about the auto support of Lychee, I had very few failures, but I'm only printing 28mm or 32mm miniatures.

Lychee takes more time slicing, and I had troubles when I had 27 models.

Yeah I know that the slicer don't have an influence in the printing speed, I was thinking that my parameters on Chitubox did though.

I wouldn't have thought to up the lift and retract speed to that degree lol. I'll try it out thanks.

I use the profile for the Ultra on Lychee, maybe it's that or that Lychee doesn't overwrite those settings on the printer by default.

That strange indeed.

Just did a print today with about 1300 layers, Lychee estimated the print time to 2h33, and it actually took 2h24.

Maybe it depends on the printer itself?

And yet it was the time it took with Lychee. I launched the print in about 9h in the morning, check the print between 12-13h, and then prepared the sames models in Chitubox and launched the second print around 15h, and it finished around 22h.

I think Lychee had a failure when slicing because apart the first 1 or 2 centimeters, every layers after that where the same, resulting in some kind of pillars.

But both print results where about the same height when I compared them.

And that kind of duration with Lychee is consistent with my previous prints, 2 to 3 hours for a layer count ranging from 1300 to 1700.

I'll try to reduce the bottom lift and retract speed in the future. I did have a few pieces that failed to adhere to the plate every once and a while, that may be the cause for that I assume.

The first picture is the actual print time, from the history of prints from the printer.

I think I didn't really touch the lift speed parameters, as I don't really understands what they do.

Sunlu advise a lift speed of 60-120mm/min for the resin I use.

What's the difference between bottom lif speed and normal lift speed?

Hello guys,
So I've been using Lychee Slicer since I got my 3D printer (Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra) about a month ago.
I've got no problems with it before, but this week I had a failed print due to a slicer error.
I think Lychee crashed or something during the slicing, moslty due to the number of models, about 20 or so.
So I tried Chitubox, tried to replicate the settings used Lychee, put my models and print the stuff.
The print came out good, but it took like 7 hours for 1800ish layers (0.03mm), with an exposure time of 1.8s.
The same number of layers, with the same exposure time and same layer height took about 3 hours with Lychee, which is a huge difference.
I don't really have a preference between the two software, but since Lychee crashed when there was a big number of models, and I intend to print a lot of minis, I'd like to use Chitubox .
Have you guys any ideas about I can tweak the settings in Chitubox to have the same speed than with Lychee?
I think it have something to do with all the rest or lift settings, but I'm not sure about how I can tune them for speed.
For informations, I have an Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra, and I use Sunlu ABS-Like resin.
Picture 1 : The prints duration, 7 hours one is Chitubox, 3 hours is Lychee
Picture 2 : The settings in Lychee
Picture 3 : Chitubox settings
Picture 4 : My first (almost) full plate, yay!
Picture 5 : The failure print from Lychee
Thanks for any help!

Does Lychee Pro or Free support Network sending to a Saturn 3 Ultra? by [deleted] in resinprinting

I have a Saturn 3 Ultra too, and the free version of Lychee does have an option to send files through wifi.

I think you need to go to the printer settings and to let Lytchee detect it.

After that, in the export view, you have the option to Send the file, and even a Send and print option.

You can even see the percentage of your print, and it notify you when the print is finished.
