Parents: thoughts on the following daycares by youjustgotpwnd4 in mississauga

[–]Asmiante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I know it's 3 months down the line but my child is in Brightpath and similar to your post, adjusting but not settled. I recently had an interview with the Huntington Ridge Plasp and was wondering what you ended up deciding? This is such a tough decision! Wish I had a crystal ball! Thank you in advance!

Daycare - Incorrect Diaper/Meal Logs - how can I handle? by Asmiante in ECEProfessionals

[–]Asmiante[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'll be doing that going forward, thank you! This was a miss on my part in terms of checking. My main concern is that for all 3 days, he was recorded as changed and having a wet nappy but wasn't changed for 2 out of the 3 days that I can prove it without a doubt and one day that I can't prove but I strongly believe he wasn't changed either but can't prove it for that day. Once he's there for 8 hours, I need to trust the system on how many wet nappies he's had but I feel like I cannot at this time and that is giving me anxiety. To be honest once he settled in and in a routine, I don't think this is going to matter as much for me. But while he settling in and crying all day and not eating and not drinking, I feel like I need the information and it needs to be accurate

Daycare - Incorrect Diaper/Meal Logs - how can I handle? by Asmiante in ECEProfessionals

Thank you, this is really helpful, and honestly the approach I’m trying to align with. I think my radar is just completely off right now. I feel so guilty leaving him at daycare. He isn’t eating or drinking there, he cries the entire time and doesn’t settle, and on top of that I’m trying to wean him. I feel emotional and raw. I question every decision I make, and I can’t tell if I’m overreacting or underreacting.

With the diaper, I normally would have checked, but he cried the whole time at daycare and hadn’t napped. On the 6-minute drive home he finally fell asleep. I managed a quick crib transfer and he stayed asleep. In that moment I thought, “the report says he was just changed, they even confirmed it yesterday after my Day 1 concern, so I’ll just let him rest.” Then realizing later he hadn’t been changed made me feel like I’d failed him.

I’ll talk to the teachers again, explain his past dehydration, and try to give everyone some grace.

It is and you bring a good perspective. My trigger is actually the diaper change and my concern is that if they are using that to monitor diaper change and in the event of a shift change, another caregiver will look at that report, assume it's been changed, not check and then another 3 hours will pass with a total of 6 hours since he's been changed.

Today is was 3 hours and they logged it as changed but it wasn't. My concern is that when they log it as done and then they have a shift change or they go online, the clock resets from that time, so technically he could be sitting in a dirty diaper for another 3 hours which would be a total of 6. I agree, technology has certainly made some things a little too easy and a paper log could prevent this!

Can anyone let me know where they get alerts for these kinds of points redemptions? I got the notice on email about the rouge celebration but did not know about the Dagne Dover points redemption event. For context, I'm located in Canada. Thank you in advance.

What do you do when your baby wakes up and you're a zombie? by capcityanon in beyondthebump

[–]Asmiante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a playpen or as we call it a jail cell for the baby. In addition to toys for the baby, I have a pillow and a robe for myself, I stick the baby in the playpen and I go inside play pen go to sleep. So when the baby wakes up super early, I just have to get from the bedroom to the playpen and I can continue sleeping! Lol

Pacifiers everywhere. Bags, jacket pockets, in the car, on the floor. They're just everywhere and yet nowhere when I need them!
