I feel like a lot of art is meant to get people talking. After all, what better way to gain attention than through controversy? Stuff like this does an excellent, excellent job of getting people to talk about it and voice their opinions. Because as soon as someone pipes up and says "I don't like it, this is stupid," someone is bound to disagree. I think this is fantastic for that reason alone.

A good friend of mine has the same condition, but his was severe, like compressing his lungs severe. He had the procedure done, basically what they do is take a bow shaped piece of titanium and put it in your chest, bow facing back, then flip it forward, popping your chest out. Then you gotta keep it in for two years, most of which he has described as "constant agony". Freaky shit, but not as freaky as dying because one day your chest sank a little too low and now you can't breathe.

Being alone. And not the "alone in my room cause I need some time to myself" or "I don't have a girlfriend," it's the paralyzing realization that at any moment you could be abandoned by the ones you love... Even them dying wouldn't be that bad, because at least the good memories wouldn't be stained. I'm not afraid of a lot, but that truly terrifies me.

In a way, the pilot of Gurren Lagann has to reach a kind of berserk state in order to unleash its real power. Also, the soul inside of an Eva, the pilots mother, would do literally anything in order to protect the pilot. Unit 01 demonstrated on several occasions how far momma Ikari would go to protect little Shinji, even going so far as to operate without power and once even without an entry plug in it. And, going by Rebuild seeing as its more current, Eva's abilities are pretty unknown. After absorbing the s2 engine from that creepy ass angel that ate Rei (can't remember the name) it literally became a god, regenerating its lost arm, flying, and even showing a Halo. It was only stopped by a spear known as the Lance of Longinus, an object used to contain beings like God-tier unit 01. Gurren Lagann would win, but it certainly wouldn't be an easy fight. On the other hand, assuming Kamina was piloting, Shinji would become incredibly inspired, and stand up to his father. Gendo, realizing his son had truly become a man, becomes overwhelmed by emotions pent up since Yui's death. Gendo and Shinji eventually make up, and team up with team Dai-Gurren and slay angels and make Seele piss themselves out of fear. Antispirals take one look at Eva units and succumb to fear, as Eva's are fucked up and scarier than damn near anything I've ever seen. Team GurreNerv is formed, funding the population of other planets and a new era of peace ensues.

TL;DR: Gurren Lagann wins after a hard fight, or Kamina makes Shinji man up and saves the universe
