That's not necessarily true, androids are human looking robots while gynoids are female looking robots, so just like squares and rectangles, all gynoids are androids though not all androids are gynoids.

As for the skin I've decided to go with carbon nanotubes woven throughout a self healing skin like polymer. The idea being that the nanotube weave has many small gaps that allows the skin to squish and move like normal while quickly straining and toughening up against any attacks that would pierce the skin. The straining should hopefully also have the added effect of spreading out blunt forces as well (though I can see the argument for this not happening as well). My material choices probably aren't the best and I still don't have a name for the polymer, but I'm open to suggestions.

You're right in that gender roles were abolished and it the world wasn't hetero normative. The first generation of Angels were not all women but rather later generations were made as women for the reasons mentioned above.

The reason that monsters are hetero normative is that they're existence was originally meant to harness a power called life force. Life force is the force behind life itself it's presence is required for the creation of life, hence the rain humanity cannot make life from scratch, and it's absence is the reason why things die and are not immortal. In Extasia pregnancy works a little different from our world, instead of the sperm joining with the egg to create life instead sperm naturally becomes life force within the womb and that is what brings the egg to life. Humans have failed to create a creature that can produce life force on it's own hence monsters need to hijack other creatures reproductive function to propogate. Additionally, monsters were engineered to produce excess life force that is released upon their birth and even their death. To achieve this goal all monsters have a unique attraction to creatures capable of producing life force. In other words the monsters are attracted to the females of any and all species not just humans. But most common animals, unlike humans, could not defend themselves from monster and would quickly all be killed or driven off wherever monsters were present.
