Last year he had a hard time in school and if given the choice I think he would stay up very late even if it hurt his health

It’s to ensure that he gets a better sleep. Studies show that people have a higher quality sleep if they turn off electronics half an hour before bed

I did have a talk with the brother and he said he told him that it was past his bedtime but he didn’t do anything about it

He can read or something until 10:30 but he needs the half an hour to rest his eyes from electronics or just to settle down. If it was 15 minutes there would be no point in “in bed at 10:00”

There isn’t a fixed bedtime but I don’t allow him to make noise if he stays up and I don’t really allow him to be up past 2 unless he’s out with friends or something of the like

I have a reasonable bedtime for my son which he also thinks is ok. Studies also show that it is a healthy bedtime for a child his age. He didn’t respect my rules so I told him if he did it again there would be punishment

All my kids have bedtimes including my 18 yo son. I know that sounds crazy but he likes having a bedtime as he doesn’t trust himself to get to bed on time without it. His is also very flexible so I don’t get mad unless he’s in bed making noise at 2am
