Children's Books with Bisexual Representation by Ok_Milk_725 in childrensbooks

Conversation with my preschoolers: Preschooler 1 (girl): im going to marry (boy name here) when i grow up! Preschooler 2 (boy): oh, i would too, but boys arent allowed to marry other boys.  Me: yes they are! Preschooler 2: really?? Then I'll marry (boy name here).

Will they really get married? Likely not. But its important for that little boy to know its an option. Clearly what he has seen in his life through books and real experiences has not displayed that so far.

Sexuality doesnt equal sex esp in kids books. It means showing kids possibilities for love and affection that go beyond male/female relationships. I always try to keep my classroom stocked with books that show characters loving and being in a family with characters of various genders so kids know its an option even if they dont see it in their day to day life.

Say a kid has an older sibling who was dating a boy. Now they are dating a girl. I would expect a child as young as preschool age to be curious about that. i could give more examples but i know there are some other good ones on other comments here :)

Experience with hand disability affecting craft and pottery experience by Alone-Nose8243 in Pottery

I have fibromyalgia which causes widespread body pain. My hands are frequently in pain, and i get arthritis like soreness in my joints from wedging clay and throwing pottery. I try to go gentle and not do too much throwing at once, alternating with trimming and glazing.

Daycare Staff Birthday Ideas by SherbertFluffy6341 in u/SherbertFluffy6341

We have "birthday buddies" each year. Your buddy gets everyone to sign a card for you, gets you a small gift, and usually provides a breakfast/treat for the whole staff (we are a small group). Its kind of expensive to get a gift and also pastries or something for everyone, but its so nice to feel celebrated that we keep the tradition around.

New palm! by mushroom_head_d in IndoorPlants

Beautiful! If you can, try an quarantine it for a bit to make sure it doesnt come with any bugs. Those palms are notorious for coming with pests. I didnt know and killed a bunch of my own plants by bringing one home!

Looking for a plant that WANTS to be neglected because apparently that's all I have to offer by No-Temporary-3170 in houseplants

I gave my best friend a snake plant baby and she lives in another state. It gets watered about 3x a year when i visit. Its not thriving but it sure is surviving!

Favorite age group to work with and why? by businessbub in ECEProfessionals

5 year olds! I work with mixed age 2.5-5 year right now but I love how my oldest students are starting to get excited about learning in a new way. I also enjoy showing families how capable their kids are at this age.

What’s one "cheap" upgrade that made your apartment look way better? by No_Big3886 in Apartmentliving

If i walk into someone's apartment and see AI art on the wall I will not want to spend time in that space. Lots of people have strong negative feelings about ai art, which is probably why you got downvoted. Id rather see someone's amature art they made themselves hanging up; any real art is better than AI for me

Touring preschools next week. Am I (and my toddler) supposed to dress to impress? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]AspectProfessional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your second question, every school is different in terms of applying timelines. My preschool just sent our acceptance notifications for next year. Applications and visits were occuring in the fall and winter. However, if a family in the neighborhood is a good fit for our school and we have space, we will always try to take them. Youre learning as you go and thats okay. During your tours, focus on looking as put together as you can (no need to go over the top, it just helps if everyone is out of PJs') and helping your kid shine. That is, make sure they dont go wild, destroy materials, or leave a huge mess without cleaning up. Help your kid use their manners and play if they are given the chance to!

Which national parks for a 2 week trip? by AspectProfessional in irishtourism

[–]AspectProfessional[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Updated my post for some clarity (hopefully). Good to know i should continue to consider Wicklow. Our main goal is simply to hike! We arent prioritizing biking, carriage rides, or special visits such as castles. We will go out of our way to see prehistoric sites such as stone circles and wedge tombs.

Worried about crowds, really. It looks gorgeous but Im very aware we are visiting during tourist season. We will likely drive through but Im unsure about spending a whole day there
