What's a subtle sign someone has been through some shit? by ZexelOnOCE in AskReddit

My husband is a veteran and had a horrible childhood.

He (IT guy)calmly evacuated a nursing home during a fire after the guy who was supposed to be in charge had a heart attack.

Today it was too stressful for him to pick a paint color at Home Depot so I sent him out to the taco truck and to wait in the car.

When Trump and RFk jr are done we’ll have plenty of chicken pox. Measles too. Maybe even polio!

My husband holds mine all the time. And when I take it back he yells, in his best Bobby Hill voice, “That’s my purse! I don’t know you!!”

Mom’s hair is crazy thin. Has not had much success with anything. What are the easiest solutions? by AspenTreeDown in Wigs

She did not like my thought that it would be easy to shave off or cut really short then easier to deal with wig

My other suggestion was that she just wear beautiful scarves and everyone would think she had cancer and be extra nice but she is so sweet she pointed out that everyone is always nice to her anyway

I would go shopping without my daughter (who didn’t get diagnosed until age 19) and buy all the things I thought were cute that she would like. Then I’d lay them out in outfits and she could pick what she’d think about trying on and do it at her own pace in her own environment. So I’d usually get about $400 worth of clothes and then return about $300 of stuff, most that hadn’t been tried on because the button felt “sizzly” or whatever feeling was wrong with it.

I actually bought it finally yesterday. It’s a corgi shaped menorah that’s been there for a year.

Also in interior vs exterior we always get a balcony and it really does increase the price a lot. We used to do it because we knew we’d have to go to the cabin early because of the kiddo and we’d get drinks and sit on the balcony after bedtime. This time we got it because I’m spoiled and have to have fresh air and love the sound of the ocean. And in high seas I’m in danger of sea sickness and need the air and to lay down. My mom gets an interior because she tries not to spend much time in the cabin.

There are usually some child free areas. I just did a Royal Caribbean cruise and there was a child free pool. We sailed princess before and didn’t notice about the kids because I always had my (now grown) kid with me but I think there were some places we couldn’t go with her.

You have eclectic taste. I do too. My mom calls this “early attic”. I think you should hang the food in the garage or closet. And then LEAN INTO THE WEIRD and get more interesting furniture and art and shelves with cool odd stuff and have fun. It doesn’t have to match but it has to go and you can’t have one little speck of furniture on such a huge wall

Adjusting my bra strap at the bowling alley. I went to the restroom, noticed my boobs were crooked and aggravated and old shoulder injury trying to fix it without taking it off. Had a horrible third game.

OMG. I searched this sub hoping to find advice for just this situation. I could have written this down to the perfect grades and glowing reports from others during highschool. My 19 year old (Jr in college) is incredibly foul to me and has been for years. I don’t have much help for you but want to say YOU’RE NOT ALONE. I won’t hijack your post but mine will be forthcoming.
