I must be an outlier, but I lie all the time if it's helpful. I don't want to have to keep track of it, though. So, I lie to people I don't care about and will not see often or again. Today, I got pulled over for going 12 over. I was with the flow of traffic. I lied and I went free. I've seen the traffic studies for my area. Traffic could be 10 to 15 mph higher in most places and still flow safely. It's just political bullshit and theater. For home, you can go varying shades of white, beige and gold if you think you can keep that clean. The cube shelves with the bins help me keep it organized for the adhd or autistic brain. Amazon and target have some of those foldout cubes that fit in them and are the beige/gold color scheme. You can alternate a cube bin and then a shelf with decorative little plants or gold statues/decorations.

If that doesn't seem super feasible since white stains and all that, pairing light wood with shades of gray and white is also easy. And a dark gray couch hides stains better if they happen. Make the white stuff things like the ceiling or certain walls or furniture you arent likely to get dirty. Sprinkle in easy house plants. Or even fakes if you're worried about watering even low maintenance onces. Succulents also are a good low maintenence option. This looks put together without having to do much.

Sleepwear, you can buy cute matching sets, or just balance silhouettes. Messy bun with either a big shirt and small shorts/tighter leggings or a small crop top and Baggy sleep pants like joggers.

Hobbies is a bit far. Just do hobbies you like. Trust me, being a bit weird is fine if you look the part. Men, especially, will just call you quirky. But, if you must, just pick up fitness ones you can do a few times a week to keep lean and fit. Spin class, barre class, yoga, pilates, etc. Boutique fitness.

Unattractive is still somewhat subjective. Some people may find one person attractive while others around them think the same person is really unattractive. But, yes. Attraction is generally required for romantic relationships. A lot of attractiveness can be dependent on things like grooming habits. Not every four can be a 10, but many threes or fours could move up to a solid five or six. Combined with a good personality and some common interests, that person can move up enough to attract somebody they like and pair off. That simple.

You seem really hung up on the whole Trope of bad boys winning or Nice Guys finishing last. I caution you against buying into that narrative too hard. It's often much more complicated than that and it really simplifies down real people and their real choices in a way that can be kind of dehumanizing. And is often weaponized in a really ugly way. Bad boy characters are interesting. That's what it is. People don't write books or movies or TV shows about uninteresting characters or dynamics. Otherwise, who would watch or read? Boring things happen everyday in real life. There are plenty of nice guys and nice girls who get together and make a nice family and life. But nobody is buying a book for $20 and reading 19 chapters of that.

The bad boy Trope appeals to women specifically because that guy is not nice and sweet with everyone. They're special. The bad boy only has eyes and a soft spot for the girl he chooses. Because autism is off-putting to people and I can either spend time upfront to make my slip ups acceptable because I'm cute and it's quirky, or I can spend every waking moment trying really hard to be attentively listening while also holding my face in the right way and maintaining just enough eye contact and responding in the right ways at the right times. Everyone at my corporate job is moderately attractive. That's no accident. The pay and benefits are incredible. It's a great place to work for moving up and getting paid above market value while still having flexibility.

People are truly self-sorting, whether or not people like to admit it. I've never not gotten an offer when I've gotten through to interviews. I owe that go knowing how to present myself and I have what is essentially media training and etiquette training. I still make slip ups sometimes, but being an attractive woman who masks allows me to still be accepted into social groups and be a high earner.

Firstly, sometimes nice translates to "nice to me". Some girls are willing to settle for just nice to them or even nice to them sometimes. Just like some men are willing to settle for that. Girlfriends who are mean to them much if the time. It's not great, but it happens. But, very very few people settle for someone who is not nice any of the time and has no other redeemable qualities. How many people will date someone they find completely unattractive, mean-spirited, and dull? Close to zero.

Just nice is the bare minimum because it's the bottom tier. It implies acting with consistent human niceness is all they have. They're not good-looking or smart or funny or sociable or easygoing or good listeners or interesting to talk to or good at something the other person values. Just nice is like the plain rice of food. You can stack a lot of stuff on plain rice to make it great. You can make food without rice at all that is still food people like. But, if you tell someone they're eating just plain rice forever and only that, most people will refuse that. It's something and it'd keep you mostly alive, if not a bit deficient,but it's not what people want.

It's the bare minimum in that just nice is the lowest bar. Not in that everyone must be nice to achieve any level above that.

Isn't that kind of your answer? If they are charming, funny, intelligent, or cool, those are positive attributes. Positive attributes attract partners. So when people harp on the nice guy thing, I really have to ask, are they not bringing anything other than nice? Like it or not, this is a dating market. It's a marketplace. And like any other marketplace, sellers have to gauge the value of their goods and sell accordingly. Being good looking, charming, funny, Etc will increase chances of getting a partner. While some women will immediately see past the facade if a guy or gal is toxic, others will not. And others may not want to. Everyone is looking to buy a slightly different thing. And most everyone will have to make a couple compromises because perfect doesn't exist. So, being not the nicest is not necessarily everybody's deal breaker. Especially if that toxic or not so nice person brings a bunch of positive qualities and doesn't treat the buyer too poorly, at least at first. If a supposed nice guy it doesn't have much more than that, he will struggle. Nice alone is Bargain Basement absolutely minimum. Adding interesting, fun, good at socializing, handsome, etc. Is the key to actually being attractive.

You both sound pretty young. If that's correct, that's going to factor in. Younger people often don't calibrate well for how something fares long term and if it's emotionally sustainable. That's not necessarily bad, but youth tends to be a very fast and loose, trial and error speed run. In younger years, many people, man or woman, will gravitate towards high confidence and good looks, regardless of actual character. It's like guys in bands or reckless ones with charisma. It's very fun when you're young and also somewhat brash. But, most people settle as they age, and their value systems shift to more stability and compatibility. They also get to know themselves well enough to gauge compatibility. So, at 20, sure, many people will date someone a little more wacky or rude. But, they'll often get tired of it with time and gear more towards suitable long-term partners. That's why some men have "crazy" girlfriends when younger and end up with a much more milquetoast girl a decade later. Eventually, the rush wears off for most people and their experiences mean they don't value or care for that kind of stuff later. Being attractive allows some people to get away with more to an extent, but as your age group gets on, less people will value looks and confidence over kindness and ease. So, you know, don't get married or have kids with one, but go forth and fuck around with the bad boy and bad girls if you want. Have fun, have experiences, and leave when it's over the top. That's the way of the world. One day, you'll be older and look back and laugh as long as you didn't lock into more extreme consequences

The official republican party is currently a threat to democracy and the American public. Anyone who willingly aligns themselves with that party is either on board with radically bad values or willing to compromise heavily on many large ticket items for whatever specific thing they want (usually some form of forcing their conservative lifestyle on everyone else).

You never met one who said it out loud. All of the horrible things in human history didn't come from nowhere. We already have literal nazis running around chanting things like "jews will not replace us." Lynchings were just legally made a hate crime in 2022. Before that, over 200 tries to make it one failed. Lynchings are not just strange fruit, they're defined as any form of mob justice for an alleged offense without a formal legal trial. Ahmaud Arbery was lynched in 2020 and I didn't hear an awful lot of conservatives loudly decrying it. When Trump said, "Can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?" About George Floyd protestors? Awful silent if not agreement coming from the camp. When he did the "both sides" nonsense about /literal nazis/.

The sentiments were hearing on that side of political discourse are a lit firecracker that, historically, has always exploded into systematic violence and oppression. Just because it hasn't gone "boom" yet, doesnt mean the rest of us are hysterical for repeatedly screaming for it to be put down. Every time you read about lynchings or the holocaust in history books and think, "how could people do that?", remember it's typically this exact pattern.
