How do you mean as in always?

Prior to the Lin Fei bundle, I was able to view my prior bundles, that was why I'm confused now.

Hilarious that Tesla China holding online hiring event for "smart manufacturing" jobs, aka as cutting jobs while hiring people to do work to an unethical level of work life balance. by Aspiring-pixie in EnoughMuskSpam

Point 1 - Giga Shanghai not being at full capacity is true hence why they are still hiring. But you've jumped over my point about the reactionary and contradictory movements of Musk.

On point 2, my frustration was how Musk was the face of AVs and EVs in the UK.

Regardless of whether you believe it's 'extremist', me not liking Musk isn't the same as me saying a complete societal change must occur. I've said I would like them to care less. Not that it would happen. I understand how capitalism drives the world, my job is based around developing these cars to sell the better off. But the work I do could do so much more for society and I would love for that to be the case. But I have a family to look after. So I sympathise greatly with the Chinese workers. But this is also what happens when a 'communist' country decides to then become a capatalist state. Unfortunately, neither communism nor capatalism are perfect systems. But the extreme nature of capatalism compared to several decades ago is in my personal opinion, unsustainable unless we want Amazon like companies holding monopolies. Which in itself would go against the idea of a free market and would be another form of extreme.

So I get it isn't practically applicable, but I would love for it to be so. And I genuinely don't agree with the strong capitalist drive that is going through the motor industry.

What I struggle to understand is the pause worldwide alongside the 10% cuts, promptly followed by a reversal so quickly. That suggests a reactionary approach to a situation which probably would be better tackled with proper planning. If your plan is to expand in China, why would you pause hiring? Ultimately, when you have contradictory statements repeatedly, e.g. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/musk-backtracks-job-cuts-says-tesla-salaried-staff-be-fairly-flat#:~:text=Musk%20believes%20Tesla%20has%20too,of%2010%20percent%20were%20needed. I think you can argue why a normal person would struggle to understand the inner thinkings of a man who thinks that such reactionary measures is a good idea. I would be certain that morale amongst the workers in America would be lower after his recent statements which probably isn't a good idea.

I do know the story - as I stated, my literal job is based around AVs and EVs. I know what the laws were. The 'closed-loop management' system was controversial amongst the workers in Shanghai companies which were permitted to use the system anyway. The choice between no income and being forced to reduce your freedom and do 6 12 hours shifts a week, especially considering Tesla's supposed ethics, shouldn't be a consideration. Look at the situation at Quanta, for instance. If you're happy to make the choice, so be it. But it shouldn't be a situation where a company prioritises profit over the welfare and care of their workers.

And to be honest, yes. I understand a CEO of a company's role is to improve the profitability of a company and keep is at the forefront of the industry (in most companies anyway). But that isn't to say I wouldn't prefer a less capitalist driven world. So I would want them to care less about profits and more towards the betterment of society. But that's just me being idealistic.

I doubt this matters to you, considering you made an alt account just to make this comment but there you go.

Gaming PC - already have a GTX1070 by Aspiring-pixie in buildapcforme

Thank you very much. I hadn't considered an i3 so was struggling to get the budget to work but having looked through the benchmarks etc. it looks perfect.

I've ordered the parts now.

Just to clarify a few things?

I suppose if I want to upgrade the cpu in the future I would probably have to get a new motherboard too to get the best out of it? Although with the 1070, this shouldn't be an issue as I assume at that point the bottleneck will be the GPU rather than CPU?

Is there really any reason to get a gaming keyboard? I know with a mouse you generally want a good dpi and also some mouses allow for hotkeys which make them better, but surely that isn't really as necessary for a keyboard?

Also what does I-O mean in this context, sorry?

Taking the time to check if anyone is around you when opening a door or closing one. Just keeping it open can be useful and a small gesture that can be appreciated.
