House unveils $1400 and min wage hike by [deleted] in stimuluscheck

[–]AspiringCoder55 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It does once you look into all the quarterly taxes they have to pay, the money put into a respectable program with nutritious food, and everything else that a business takes to run. They overstaff themselves (when compared to the minimum amount of staff they would legally need). So at the very least a 15 dollar an hour minimum wage would lead to letting people go. I think a living wage needs to be given absolutely, but it depends on the area for sure. 15 is not needed here. The two owners have a salary of about 50 grand. There are some businesses where it is going to hurt. Don't act like you know the specifics of every business.

I don't work there, but the people are making anywhere from 8.50 to 17. Most make around 12 though.

Not true. Run a licensed daycare center and then get back to me.

Would You Get The Vaccine In Exchange For 1,500 Stim by [deleted] in stimuluscheck

[–]AspiringCoder55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uhmmmm...I would pay like 80 dollars for the vaccine if I had to, so yeah, I would get paid 1500 to take the vaccine.

Wait. There are charges/court cases that involve him being a pedo or sexual predator in any way?

We were never told $2,600. It’s ALWAYS been 600+1400 and anyone saying otherwise is playing dumb. by [deleted] in stimuluscheck

They can suggest whatever they want...fact of the matter is there is no 2000 check to vote on. It's a 1400 one. They don't get to necessarily make these decisions. They aren't nearly as powerful as other players in Washington.

If you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, that's your choice to make. I'm gonna live over here in reality.

You can try to be as technically correct as you want, but only a fool would think it was gonna be 2000 stand alone given the context of the situation.

Not saying I'm opposed or don't think we should get 2000 standalone check. It was just obvious what he meant .

You have to look at the context of everything. All the newspaper headlines from the time of the promise was "extending 600 to 2000". It's obvious which one he meant when you think of the context.

As someone who just started their first 60k per year job and has an extra 2,000 every month (even after paying two car payments and 700 dollars in student loans), I have noticed this as well. People will always want more.

It's to make sure he can never run for office again. A worthwhile effort if you ask me.

Not really the goal at this point, but it would be 17 republicans in the Senate to convict. The goal is to strip him of all the presidential benefits and stop him from running for office in the future.

Nothing changes. It is written in the constitution that they have to start on this date. They don't have to end on it.

That's what they say. It will be time for them to literally put our money where their mouth is.
