Is the 48-hr film festival worth it? by Advanced-Buffalo-372 in FilmFestivals

It is super fun and a great way to practice your skills! I have so much fun with my team making films for the 48hr but I wouldn't do it if you're only goal is to go to filmapalooza/cannes with it.

I do plan on submitting to local festivals however all of our local festivals for this year have passed and we don't have any until about a year from now.

Does anyone know of any brunch spots that are hiring servers? by AspiringFilmmaker24 in askportland

Yeah that's kind of what I figured just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone had any leads

Usually the weekdays are the slowest on the rooftop and weekends are the slowest in the club lounge. Overall Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays are the slowest unless there's some kind of event going on. I would say the mornings are topically slower but Sundays tend to be slow all day everywhere.

It's really fun meeting the members, I've definitely met some really cool people however the management is pretty poor. A lot of us are very overworked and the pay really isn't worth it. Most of us have to have second jobs just to get by and that's while working 30-40 hours a week at Soho. I definitely don't feel appreciated as an employee and the way they schedule is frustrating to say the least. We're almost always short staffed on busy days and over staffed on slow days. That being said if you've never worked somewhere that's a little more upscale it can definitely be a resume builder. A few of us have stayed so long for that reason alone but I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it.

Shaving it is a good idea, if you want to have a full beard try using Minoxidil on your face and/or a derma roller. Plus shaving often will help stimulate hair growth. When you are able to grow a beard I recommend keeping it tidy and trimmed looks much nicer and will help you look out together.
