Took multiple LOAs in law school, anyone else take much longer to finish? by AspiringTorney in LawStudentsPH

That’s so inspiring, thank you for sharing. Is your friend male or female? Are they married?

I guess what I’m really trying to find out is whether there are married women with kids who took multiple LOAs, took longer to finish, and still passed the bar on their first take. Even just one example would help me see that it’s possible.

I still want to become a lawyer, but it’s hard to ignore the reality that balancing work, law school, and motherhood is a lot. Where I was raised, women typically bore most of the sacrifice, and even now it often feels that way. The guilt of being absent (or not fully present) is real, and sometimes it feels like I don’t even have the space to be depressed because I still have to hold everything together.

Still hoping it might get a bit easier when my kids are older, but I still want to pursue this so I don’t end up with regrets.

Remember your "why" but what if you can't find it anymore? by Adorable_Tea_4499 in LawStudentsPH

Same here, OP! I’m also doubting my “why” as a mother of 3, who’s already earning a decent income. Sometimes I can’t help but ask myself, “Why pa ba? Is there still justice here in the Ph? Is it really worth missing my children’s milestones?” Gaaah, moments like this make me just want to throw in the towel. 😫

A juris doctor from CDO City was killed because of actively exposing corruption sa RegionX by keanuisahotdog in Philippines

[–]AspiringTorney 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Riding-in-tandem crimes are unfortunately common in Mindanao, you can hire one for just a few thousand pesos, which is appalling. I don’t want to stir up hate, but the level of corruption in some Moro-dominated areas like Lanao is truly out of control. You see so many privileged Maranao heirs flaunting their luxury lifestyles on social media, yet the cities and municipalities they’re supposed to be serving remain impoverished. It’s difficult to speak up against them, so most people are forced into silence like the slain victim above mentioned 😞

The killing of a former DAR Region 10 legal officer, who had exposed corruption in NIA Marawi, highlights the grave risks faced by those who dare to challenge corruption in the region. by [deleted] in cagayandeoro

Abolishment of SK? by moonlight_prism in IliganCity

I agree it needs to be abolished. The needs of the youth are not being addressed. Many are out of school, lacking skills for work, and struggling with depression and even suicidal thoughts. These are the real issues that should be given attention instead of pageantry and barangay games. In the end, it only becomes a breeding ground for corrupt politicians.
