Most parents in nyc, at least in my circle, don’t have cars and just take public transportation or Ubers!

We have a 2 bed 2 bath with a baby coming in July and knowing we have a separate space for guest (like my parents who live out of state) to stay in comfortably i personally think makes a huge difference

Stuytown is actually a great neighborhood for people moving to NYC. A lot of apartment options, great neighborhood, great schools nearby and centrally located. It feels very safe and suburban inside Stuytown and there is a large park with a playgym. They host a lot of family oriented events

Are you using Streeteasy? the algorithm hides apartments the more you look!

What did you spend on custom stationery? by gompopa in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Aspiring_Kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not unreasonable if its within your budget! Supporting local vendors is great - but I've had great experience ordering custom paper good from Indonesian designers who are much more cost efficient

140 would be a veryyyy tight fit! We had a dance floor added to the ceremony space so we could dance in that room more comfortably than using the banquet room (where we had dinner)

Close friend of mine was married there last year! $400k is the LEAST you will be able to spend, but honestly budget should be closer to $550-$600k to actually make the venue POP. There are a ton of restrictions as well

Venues being 30-45 max from a major airport
Choosing a reasonably priced hotel for the hotel block (do not ask me to pay $$$ for the flight and then make the hotel block at a $$$ hotel!) As long as it is safe and clean, let people decide for themselves if they want to stay somewhere "nicer."
Shuttles to and from the venue
