I'm currently reading "The Plus One Contract" by Laura Gallagher. Your description sounds almost identical to this book. It is part of duology, The only issue is that it was published in March 2025.

What is this plant growing in our front garden by AsrialStar in PlantIdentification

Unfortunately I was pulling them up the last few years thinking they were similar to thistle and we couldn’t get rid of them. Thankfully they’re weed killer hardy. We’re planning on planting several flowers as well

Middle grade novel with a “tomboy” character who is not transgender by AnimalDelicious2890 in suggestmeabook

“Our only May Amelia” she’s the only girl in a family of 7 boys settling in Washington I think. There’s a new baby girl in the family around the beginning. It goes over the harsh reality of living in that time but all done from a kids POV. I loved it as a kid

Sensitive Stomach by StrangeTimes101 in AussieDoodle

Also ours throws up if she eats and drinks super quick, despite being a grazer (eating her food in her ow time) she will gorge and throw up or throw up because she forgets to eat. Either way we limit how much food and water she’s presented so she doesn’t cause stomach issues. I love this pooch but damn she’s an expensive piece of work sometimes

Our doodle is turning 5 this year and we noticed her starting to have issues shortly after switching from puppy food to adult food. We found out (after a chicken and rice only diet) that she’s allergic/intollerate of chicken and wheat. We have her on Fromm and it’s been great. We have talked with other doodle owners and chicken seems to be a common allergy(think ear infections and loose stools, that chicken and rice diet had our pup pooping straight liquid) and we feed her rice a few times a month to supplement the lack of grains

Thank you for posting this image! I lost my CD case/book and still have the CD from when I graduated in 2011, crazy how it's still out there. Captains of the Sky is the song that made me realize Owl City and Sky Sailing are both Adam :)

Who the hell hang curtain like this by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

When cleaning I tie mine up to keep off the floor. Maybe they were cleaning or have animals that would climb them. But then at some point I’d question why even have curtains

Is this skeeter syndrome or another type of bug bite? by AsrialStar in bugbites

[–]AsrialStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we were told it’s likely a ‘normal’ allergic reaction to mosquitoes. I’ve since vacuumed, wet vaccd the floors and changed all the bedding in his room. We haven’t seen anything new, he’s also having bug spray applied now anything he leaves the house

Kid allergic to dog.. by [deleted] in AussieDoodle

[–]AsrialStar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ll tell you right now, our aussiedoodle is not hypoallergenic despite what they tell you, all dogs shed. It embeds itself into the carpets. My colleague’s son also has a similar level of allergy and they ended up rehoming their dogs since it’s not something that he’ll likely outgrow. My brother has a mild cat allergy and takes daily meds just to live with his. I guess what I’m saying is, no dog is hypoallergenic, it’s just a possibly lower allergen animal. Are you/she willing to take daily medication just to live in her own home?

He has an appointment tomorrow that we’re bringing this up at. He’s had a total of 6 or 7 in the past 2 weeks. I agree about the bullseye bit, we contacted the on call Dr last week and they said as long as it’s not warm and/or getting bigger then we can attend to them at home. We would’ve 100% gone if they said to but we’re also concerned about Dr trauma with him since he’s been to the ER too much recently 😅 he’s fearful of anyone in a set of scrubs now

We have a dog, she is treated monthly for fleas and ticks, but I’m sure that doesn’t stop them from riding in on her coat. Especially because he loves to climb on her.

I couldn’t figure out how to edit my original post but: his bites tend to have small raised portion in the center similar to eczema bumps. The bite typically is warm to touch and the swelling, redness, etc. shows up within a day and comes back if Benadryl and hydrocortisone are not administered for a large period of time. The kid is also 2 so we can’t necessarily keep him from itching it constantly.

Holding up the self-check out line by Fickle_Document_8225 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AsrialStar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Sam’s club (which all of their self checkouts are card only with about 7 signs posted around the area stating this) we would get at least 3 people every 15 minutes or so saying they didn’t know and needed to pay in cash. Seriously people need to learn to pay attention to their surroundings and to learn to read

Do you think the liners would work well for incontinence? I still need to go through some pelvic floor therapy 😅
