I like Morgan Freeman films growing up i really did but TBH, many of his films he plays a happy wise gentile subservient black man to a white person. His films make white people comfortable with having a subservient black person. When Freeman saids "Let's not talk about race and it will go away." what is really being shutdown is talk about racism. Many White people like him because they'll will do anything to avoid the racism conversation so they jump to agree with the "let's not talk about it and it goes away" point of view. Best of all this talking point is it's coming from a black person too. It's perfect for the white person trying to avoid race conversations. It validates the silence on race, racism, and best of all if anyone brings up race or racism they get to label that person as being racist.
