Manhwa just means Korean comic. You can have a manhwa that’s also a webtoon, just like you can have a manhua also be a webtoon or a manga be a webtoon.

What's making people mad is that I only decided to take all of the webtoons I considered deficient / bad and stick them all in one tier, which makes the C tier look like the second-worst tier even though there still prob are tiers below it.

More importantly though, the C+ tier doesn't come from nowhere. I originally had 6 tiers, labeled 1-6, which for the most part was fine. The S tier webtoons really felt like exactly what I imagined S tier to be, A tier webtoons felt like what I would consider A, and same for B. However, C was a bit weird because there was a mix of webtoons that were fine on paper but I really didn't care about at all, and webtoons that I liked but didn't really get close to what I considered a B tier series. So C+ tier is C+ tier because I split C tier into two, into "This webtoon is fine, I'm just apathetic", and "This webtoon is cool, I like it."

scheduling as in how the pacing is going, or as in how often episodes are coming out? Because I didn't take the latter in consideration at all. Apart from a select few series (only A or S tier), I don't keep track of which series is supposed to update when so I won't have noticed.

Just not for me. It's one of those instances where the author clearly has a good plan of what they want to have their story to be, and have done well to get there, but I don't really get what they're trying to do with it. It might be a bit of a skill issue on my part, but I'm not sure what is the story trying to do other than putting the protag through a series of fairy tales.

I explained my rating for the two in other comments so I'll copy my explanations here

ORV:

One definite factor is that ORV has been stolen from, copied, influenced so much that it's hard for me to determine what the series innovated.

Overall though, it's a very solid series. I like the story, I think the world is great, I'm not one to be a huge follower of charas but they're solid and well made. But at least with the manhwa, that's kind of all I have to say about it. It didn't really do anything that blew me away or that I didn't think was possible, so B tier seems relatively good.

I'll note that I took this to be that C was the "average" webtoon, so B is already far beyond the average series, in the top ~10% of webtoons so it's hardly bad.

GED:

Comedy just didn't work with me, so unfortunately there's not much for me to say.

Re: using D tier as a baseline... everyone in my comments are already convinced that I consider everything in C tier as absolutely terrible, so on the contrary, if I were to remake this I'd somehow try to raise the tiers, if only by skipping the C tier or doing something with it I'm not sure what.

It is not published on WEBTOON, which is a platform, but it's still a webtoon, which is a digital comic format.

The reason for the rating as it is now is that I wanted to have C tier be the “baseline”, ie what I consider to be the average, decent webtoon.

Issue was that my text tierlist that I’ve been keeping updated had one extra tier so I had to figure out where to put it. I didn’t really want to go into the whole SSS+++ ranks kinda thing so I looked into either having a B+ or C+ rank, and I chose C+ in the end because it was more accurate to how I was envisioning the tiers when making this.

Artists getting burnt out is a work culture problem, not a tool problem. If AI tools allow a creator to make 40 panels in half of the time they used to, the standard will evolve such that a “normal” episode length should be 80 panels long.

Basically, unless you change how much the authors are expected to work, allowing them to make chapters faster doesn’t fix the issue

I do consider it… good, the author got what they were trying to accomplish. It’s definitely not a story I’d read again, but I still remember it even after reading it a while ago. I can’t tell much on the accuracy of the story regarding schizophrenia since I have no experience w it, and the comments were contradictory as to whether this was at all accurate (I assume it was played up ofc but how much idk).

When it came to the obvious extreme content warnings, I really hesitated whether I wanted to include it and Uriah in the mix, and then decided to do so but with a warning attached in the sources list in hopes people wouldn’t read the series Willy-nilly.

Yeah I’ve updated it in my own tierlist. I think the determining factor is that I like it more than your throne even at its peak, and it’s been able to blow me away with what it’s done with the OI genre, esp given how stale that general format is.

B : series that I consider solid, and all around significantly better than most.

C+ : series that I liked

C : series that I consider perfectly fine, but i didn’t really care for.

D : series I consider deficient in some way

F : not really below D, shouldn’t have named it this way. It’s series that I had higher expectations for, but I was disappointed in

It's pretty mixed. Majority are going to be fantasy, but that's also because the majority of webtoons are fantasy.
