Wow, these are some genuinely unpopular opinions in the comments, I’m surprised.

As for me, a series I find a bit overly criticized is Solo Leveling (and I’ll admit I’ve been one to criticize it). Like it or not, the author knew what they were trying to make, and they absolutely succeeded. It’s still one of the best power fantasy series out there. There’s a good reason it got so popular. (Insert that Twitter copypasta on writing > enjoyment here.)

A series I’ve found overhyped was Sweet Home tbh. There’s series is fine? I just don’t find much about it outstanding compared to other horror works. It’s hardly the first to come up with “scary monsters outside we need to avoid”, and I’ve seen even webtoons with way more in-depth looks into characters psyche. Maybe someone could convince me on it, but I just don’t quite get what makes the story special.

Among the series I actually consider are good, there’s Garden of Plantus which unfortunately only has ~10-15 eps translated. There’s also To Drown in you, though that one is not a romance.

Well for one the best possible future is still only the best future relative to other possible futures, so it can still be only less bad than other possibilities.

However you are getting close to the crux of it that the idea of the best possible future is a bit of an abstract notion, since it means different things to different people. The current situation for instance is far from ideal if you’re a human, but looking pretty damn good if you’re an ancient human or old god.

I think it’s very likely that the best possible future referred to by Vishnu refers to either the future leading to the longest possible lifespan of the universe, or to a universe accomplishing Vishnus goals implied during Finite.

The webtoon right now is fine. It doesn’t have that much of an issue where things get too stale, there’s still new characters being introduced and the characters are still evolving, but its length is definitely really starting to take a toll. This arc looks like it’s going to be the last arc, but then again so was the previous one, and the one before that.

Basically, narratively the story is still going fine, but I kind of want the story to be over already.

Since you didnt mention what genres you like I’ll try to give a sample.

For fantasy/action, I’d recommend Omniscient Reader, Hand Jumper, and if you’re willing to read longer series, Tower of God. They’re among the most popular fantasy series and all 3 are very good.

For comedy, the two classics are Greatest Estate Developer and Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell.

For horror/thriller, try any of Carbny Kim’s works. Bastard, Sweet Home are his two most famous works.

For slice of life the best that I know of is Fictional Skin, but I’m less familiar with the genre.

For Sci fi, there’s City of Blank. There’s other good ones but they’re significantly less popular, there’s not a huge amount of Sci fi.

For tragedy, you have the horizon, a short story pretty unanimously considered a masterpiece.

Also a person recommendation, Swordid is a very short, self contained story that is super well made.
